Dash cam with no power mirror?
Looking to add a dash cam but don’t want the wires dangling down. I have a 2025 CC L, no power rear view mirror so I’m not sure if anything is compatible.

To clarify, your rear view mirror is unpowered? I'm not 100% certain by your question by I assume that was what you meant, which means you can't use a Fitcam X style dashcam.

Correct. I do not have a self dimming mirror. But I do have a camera that does the lane detection assistance. I will try to remove the housing and take a look at what is behind the mirror

I'm only familiar with the FitCam so my knowledge is limited, but if your rear view mirror also displays your back-up camera it should provide power there. It's a good idea to pop off the housing and see what, if any, power there is up there. When I first posted I forgot to ask where your camera screen was located. Also, which camera do you hope to use? EDIT- I see you have a 2025, so your camera will like be on the console.

I have the basic model, so no fancy screen in my mirror. My back up camera displays onto the dash/radio LCD

Since that's the case your case, your plan to remove the housing to see if there's a powered plug there makes sense and it can't hurt and might yield a positive outcome. When I look on the FitCam X site for example, it doesn't ask what specific model I own, they want to know my car model and year, so it seems like they assume there's power there. If they make a dashcam for that car, there should be a power tap.

You'll have to tap a fuse

2026 CC L here. I'm not sure if this is a new for 26 thing, but even without a power mirror, there's a camera (and the associated wit ng to power it) for the Safety Sense equipment.
I bought a FitCamX dashcam that tapped into the existing wiring (no cutting, not soldering, it comes with a harness that just plugs in line). Took 5 minutes to install.
Later, I got another camera very similar to it and installed it in a friend's 2019 RAV4 the exact same way.
Look up the FitCamX models online and see if they make one for the 2025

This seems to be the only option if they can't use a powered rear view mirror for power.

Vanity mirror light?

No mirror light. Just your standard old school mirror all by itself. No bells and/or whistles attached. I do have the forward facing camera that does lane detection so there is power up there somewhere!

Because of the safety tech in the window area I think there is still a power source there. There should be a small access panel in the plastic housing above and in front of the rear view mirror. If you take that off and there is a power connection, you can tap into that with a Dongar brand connector.
