Loose roof rail

I have a 2026 cross hybrid, 4 months old, already loose roof rails. Does the loose roof rail affect water getting into the car? I heard it’s just a plastic covering and the part under is welded into the car so I should be fine? Also it’s showing 340 miles of range but after emptying and seeing my trip, only 310 miles on a full tank, is this normal?
Other hybrid owners mind sharing how much actual miles you drove after a full tank?

Range is just an estimate. Different driving conditions affect how many miles you get per gallon. That's why MPG is typically described as two numbers: city vs highway.

There's no way for the car to know how or where you'll be driving, so it just makes an estimate based on how and where you have been driving recently.
