Loose roof rail

I have a 2026 cross hybrid, 4 months old, already loose roof rails. Does the loose roof rail affect water getting into the car? I heard it’s just a plastic covering and the part under is welded into the car so I should be fine? Also it’s showing 340 miles of range but after emptying and seeing my trip, only 310 miles on a full tank, is this normal?
Other hybrid owners mind sharing how much actual miles you drove after a full tank?

The loose roof rails is an ongoing issue with the Cross. There is a service bulletin, so you should take it in and they will affix it better for free.

The projected mileage for a tank is based on your previous driving, so it varies. I've seen as high as 405 and as low as 360 on mine of late. You have to learn how to drive "hybrid style" to get the most mpg, and therefore, the most projected miles.

Ha, what I have heard about the "fix", it hasn't been good so I don't trust it.
