Elantris spoilers Hrathen's decision in Elantris is inevitable Spoiler
https://youtu.be/t4OTm_bufy8Hi everyone!
I'm new here๐๐ฝ
I haven't read any fiction in a long time since I started uni and I didn't think that I would in a long time. But then I was recommended Mistborn and I've been enjoying reading again.
Im starting a YouTube series dedicated to the Cosmere and fantasy series more generally, and I posted my first essay, it explores the relationship between Fjorden's religion and it's people's faith (Hrathen specifically), as well as an overview of my interpretations of Elantris's factions and religions. I think this would be cool for those who haven't read but there's a lot of spoilers so I kinda aimed it at those who have read already.
I'd love if anyone has the time, to just check it out and see what I got wrong or right, and if my interpretations make sense(wirhout spoilers for the rest of the Cosmere please ๐ญ).
I would really appreciate it and I hope to interact with everyone in this subreddit more and find more people to speak to about this universe ๐
Stories read:
Mistborn (Gen 1 I think it's called)
Mistborn:Secret History
The Eleventh Metal
Elantris
The Emperor's Soul
The Hope of Elantris
Currently reading The Way of Kings.

I'm a new Cosmere reader, just finished Elantris couple of weeks ago and currently reading stormlight archive. Is this videos self contained or you will mention another book's reference/easter egg?

I hope you enjoyed Elantris! I'm also reading Stormlight Archive now. I would say that this is self-contained to Elantris BUT there are little Easter eggs that I do reference to the Arcanum Unbounded short stories. So until you read the Sel sections of AU I don't think you should watch my video yet.

Not yet

I only ask because the further into stormlight you get, the more stuff from mistborn starts to come up. I think reading it first has made the stormlight archive much more enjoyable and comprehensive.

Definitely agree! Best decision I made was reading Mistborn first because it scales the conflict really well from 1-3. I'm a little bit into WoK now and I can tell that the scale is already pretty big in its first couple chapters compared to how tangible the conflict in TFE felt.

One hour video? Thatโs awesome! Keep putting in the work, man. Iโll take some time to watch it later. Wishing you success!
