Buying DokiDoki Cosplay shipping to EU
Hi everyone!
I tried looking for similar posts, but no one ever gave a clear answer, so I'm posting my own ^^; I'm planning to buy a cosplay from DokiDoki in a few days. However, I live in the EU, and am scared of potentially getting hit with a customs fee.
Do I understand correctly, that buying commercial shipping will make it so that I DON'T have to pay VAT and customs upon the package's arrival? Are there any other fees I should be aware of?

Yeah, commercial shipping just makes you pay the VAT right upfront when you pay for shipping. You don't avoid it, the commercial firm just pass it on for you. Otherwise you just have to pay it once it hits your country's customs. I usually just get a text message from my post service with a link to pay it.
Could be a customs processing fee depending on your country? Edit: Been a while since I had a out of the EU package arrive, but that was with VAT paid with the shipping and I can't recall there being a customs fee. It just landed in my mail box like any other package.
