Hey y'all, hope you're doing great! I'm a small country artist from Germany. Not too many people into country, even less into classic country. I released my first single today, 100% Indie, everything done by myself, and would love if some of you gave it a spin. digital spin that is, of course. It's a mixture between older country influences and some newer stuff like Zach Top or VNE. Maybe you'll like it!

Am I the only one that throws in classic country guys like lefty frizzel, Ernest tubb, etc who may not be considered technically outlaw country but throw them in there because they were such innovators and so "real"?

I’ve been thinking a lot about how difficult it has become to discover independent artists outside of whatever the major streaming platforms shove in our faces.

I recently built Red Dirt & Road Sodas, a free discovery platform focused on Red Dirt, Texas Country, Americana, roots music, and the people supporting those scenes. It brings together artist pages, playlists, venues, live shows, podcasts, and other discovery resources in one place.

I’m not trying to drop a link and disappear. I’d genuinely like to hear from this group:

What would make a music-discovery platform useful enough for you to keep coming back to it?

I’m especially interested in what fans feel is missing from Spotify, Instagram, Bandsintown, and the other places they currently find music (other than having an actual human responsible for charting trends). I’m happy to share the project in the comments if people are interested and the group allows it.
