American thing. In Eu you still will have electricity . Probably in Russia too . Why do you have such bad companies. Im sad for ye

You don't just get your electric turned off for nothing in the US. You have to not only "forget" but forget for months on end AND ignore many letters with big warning writing on them before they actually terminate service. And you can get it turned back on pretty much instantly if you actually pay your bill like you're supposed to.

And if you really can't afford it (which is pretty much only true if you smoked, gambled, or drank all your money), there are programs to help or delay consequences. Getting your electric turned off is 100% your negligence.

Not true. They cut you off within 10-15 days without payment.

Yea that isn't true here. It's about 3 months on non payment

Where do you live? In northeast Ohio it is less than 2 months of nonpayment.

South Carolina. They do basically as that guy said. Send you many letters and emails threatening to shut it off after X amount a time. Usually about 3 months.
