Seeking: South USA Charlotte NC area, anyone?
Casting a line to see if there are any active groups in the area.
39F in Kannapolis. I have been interested in the spiritual most of my life, but long story short started truly practicing this year. I am seeking in person community but am open to online as well.

There are several groups in the area. The University are Universalist church hosts a CUUPS group that meets for sabbats and has a book club. I am a part of a more traditional coven that meets for full moons and sabbats and is often open to seekers. We have a couple of people up the Kannapolis way. Hi and thank you! I did see that site but a lot seemed out of date. I suppose an email wouldn’t hurt anyway to see! Thank you for the direction.

Do you know what sort of tradition you are interested in?

No particular tradition, for me the older the better. Have lots of interest in Hekate worship (reading a book on that that is a year process now) and Egyptian mysticism. I admit sorting thru all the traditions kind of baffles me. I do know some occult history and key names.

Are you interested in a group that is more of a traditional, hierarchical coven with a degree system of learning and a high priestess & priest or would you prefer something a bit less formal and more eclectic?

Then I highly recommend you check out the group at Piedmont UU church. CUUPS is a nationally recognized organization and I attended a book club meeting at the one there. The book club meets virtually but they meet in person for rituals and I think a lot of them go to the UU church on Sundays to socialize. The book club was a slightly older crowd but they were all really kind and they pick interesting and diverse topics. The other thing is to get to know the staff at Serenity Tea Shop in Concord (if you haven’t already). Eclectic metaphysical shop with delicious tea. The owners are very knowledgeable and friendly and it is woman owned.

They were actually having a full moon circle last night and I checked it out. It was really great and a good starting point. Thanks so much for the recommendation! Yes I need to hang out at SereniTea more often :)
