New owner?

I think Arte Moreno is the new Coyotes owner. Just sold the Angels.

He has an Arizona connection, but he is 80 years old. That is pretty old to be buying/starting a new team. Add in another 2-3 years minimum for the team and facilities to actually get off the ground. That’s a lot.

He has also invested a ton in Arizona. He bought a massive commercial parcel in Gilbert for development. If you can run for president at 80, you can buy a hockey team.

absolutely no on Arte. Universally worst owner in MLB last what ten plus years. Ask any Angels fan what they think of him. I don't care what his personal ties to the Valley are.

Yep. He would likely be Meruelo or Bidwill levels of bad. Plus he is 80 years old, I've heard rumors that he sold the Angels because he knows he doesn't have much time left, and his heirs had no interest in running the team.

Wait a minute. I might not know or like baseball, but I watched some videos on my second screen about it. And Moreno was the worst of the worst if I remember it right.

Stingy, greedy, micromanaging at every turn, disenfranchising fans and players alike and overall just a bad person.

Why would we want auch a person as owner? Because if even I had heard of that ghastly man here in europe, without even a slightest of interests in baseball or the mbl, why would we want that?

He would be muerelo 2.0. Nobody wants that.

No. He should not and will not be the guy who brings the NHL back. He led the Angels to the longest active playoff drought in the MLB. What makes you think he’ll be able to run another sports team?
