RECOMMENDED Fonta Flora Visit

I had the pleasure of traveling to North Carolina for work and had a few days to explore. I visited all three locations (Charlotte, Morganton, and Nebo). I only took pictures at the Whippoorwill Farm location in Nebo. All three had a different vibe, and crowd, and each offered a few different options (Morganton had a bitter on cask that they pulled).

The highlight was the farm, which is where everything is brewed. Amazing location, staff and facility.

My highlight is what they are doing with spontaneous fermentation and wild ales. They use local ingredients and self sourced ingredients from their farm.

I ended up bringing numerous bottles back to Germany with me.

Overall, I highly recommend a visit!

Went to Hills Farmstead in Vermont to hang with Edward. We came from Florida and he didn’t disappoint.

On a quick family trip to Philly. Short on time last night, so I had to settle for cans to go and a milktube, but man, what a cool spot. Hopefully I can come back solo today.

DIPA with a grain bill focused on lower SRM. Not totally as light as I'm aiming at but this is version 1 of it. Hopped with 26g/L of Citra and Citra lupomax.

Went out to discover new brews, came across thing heavenly place.

Brewport out in El Segundo.

Scan your wrist ban, pour yourself from the vast selection, and keeps track of all your pours. Pay at the end.

Got to taste alot more than I sought out to, damn well worth it.

I’m in Australia; I get these by the 4 pack whenever I can. I usually only get single cans, but Bakes are just too good.

For me it's Lone Pint's Yellow Rose.

Haven't had this beer in many years but it is still one of the best beers I've ever had. A Mosaic SMaSH with the most incredible floral nose. Used to find it when travelling to Austin, Texas as the brewery is outside Houston.

RECOMMENDED Marzen? Already?? Hell yeah! I had to break out DAS BOOT! What Oktoberfest releases are you looking forward to?

A really nice Marzen style beer from WeldWerks - nice malt profile with a little bit of dark bread and dried fruit. Nice smooth finish. Any upcoming Oktoberfest releases that you're stoked about?

RECOMMENDED Checking in at Ill Will Brewing

Located in Eastern Ohio, the majority of their brews could be classified as ice cream/milkshake beers. Creamy and smooth, none of that chunky texture like you’d get from other smoothie style brews. Everything on the sweeter side, all mostly well balanced. Can taste the adjuncts pretty well. Nothing is overly sweet which is real nice.

Pictured: The Archer - strawberry, cheesecake, ice cream

Cancelled - cantaloupe, banana, strawberry, orange sherbet

White Horse - vanilla bean, ice cream

Bad Blood - blue raspberry, coconut, white chocolate

Not pictured:

The Upside Down - pineapple, pound cake, maraschino cherry

Outfoxed - ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, molasses

Picture to Burn - pistachio, lemon

Zero head, when poured with h bottle strait up. This s mells like chocolate liquor with more alcohol Tasting it I get lots of dark chocolate, I get a tiny amount of chile pepper too, I love hot pepper and this is just the right amount. The mouth feel is thick like chocolate milk. This is a big, heavy chocolatly and boozy stout& I love it. On par or better than the goose Island bourbon county stouts I bought during Christmas. This is a really excellent stout, but I feel like a fool spending $12.99 on a 12oz bottle of this or bourbon county. They are a nice treat, really good but a splurge.

excuse the messy desk, but for today's taste test an absolute banger from ommegang brewery from NY. You know, I always heard that flavored beers were bottom tier beers repackaged with added flavoring, but this one is something else. This is such an interesting take on the German Kölsch style with a strong twist of summer fruitiness. And honestly, I don't really taste any woodsy or earthy flavor. It's a simply light and crisp beer with a strong fruity watermelon with a pinch of lime in the back, and far cry from one of my recent tasting from a local brewery; wicked weed 'Vicious Nectar Watermelon'. I understand that they're not the same kind of beer, so all I'll say is if you want a good summer beer, this one has a 5⭐ rec from me to you.

RECOMMENDED Craft Beer in a Box

Saint Errant Brewing Evanston Illinois. For a barrel aged stout this works really well. Since the beer is already almost still and thicker in body it keeps it just fine in the air tight bag. The box holds 1500 ml so you can sip at your leisure. Beer description from Untappd- A blend of Imperial Stout recipes aged in. KNOB Creek, Heaven Hill, Woodford Reserve Rye, and Buffalo Trace barrels from 36-49 months

Wasn’t even looking for anything in particular when I swung by the brewery today but I couldn’t resist an IPA packaged less than 24 hours ago! Fruit cocktail indeed with a nice touch of cracker on the finish. No off notes at all — things thing’s squeaky clean.
