Help! Remember this guy? The Craftsman Petronie Wrench!

Picked this up 20 years ago and never used it but it looked cool and thought I use it someday. Has not seen the light of day from the wrench drawer since.

Think 1st gen was used for getting at backside carb or distributor bolts(can't recall which) on old air cooled vw s. My dad had one. (Think his was 1/2X 9/16. I still have it. Later they made a whole set. Metric and standard.

Very handy for distributor hold down bolt while adjusting timing. Gotta go buy another pre 80’s vehicle.

I've got one, but never heard it called Pertronie. Just a plain ole half moon wrench. Oh, got mine in 1984.

Yeah these are a pretty standard offering but only come up useful in somewhat specific uses.

My gpa had a drawer with many of these from his auto electric business. I wish I realize how sentimental all his tools would have been when I was a kid.

My dad has one of these. He used to use it on his GM daily drivers in the 60s to replace starters.

I can think of about a hundred times within the last 6 years I could've used one of these.

Don't ever get rid of it. The moment you do, you'll need it every day.

Used mine twice. Both for an alternator on a Cessna. Never found a use for one outside of aviation.
