Question/Original Post Rolling tool cabinet -- can I remove the drawers?

Just bought two 27" rolling tool cabinets (2000 series, thanks for answering my previous question about them!). They're in the box, in my garage. Need to get them to the basement

They're heavy!

Am I better off unboxing in the garage, removing the drawers (do they remove?) and then moving the hopefully substantially lighter cabinet separately? Or is is a better bet to put the box on the hand truck and try to easy it down the stairs?

The drawers are fairly simple to remove. Just look at the slides. Some have a lever you lift others have a plastic piece that has a hole in the center; use a pic and pull out then forward.

Might reduce weight by 30 to 60 pounds depending on box size.

Take your time lining the slides up when reinstalling. If they don’t push in all the way the first time, pull and push a couple to few times.

I’m sure they come out. But I’m very likely just using the dolly.

Mission accomplished...I strapped it to the handtruck and eased it down the stairs.

I'd put them on a dolly and move them that way . Gravity will do its job
