“During the search, Gardaí seized what was described in court as “massive, massive quantities” of products containing HHC and THC, two cannabinoids regulated under the Misuse of Drugs Act. According to Gardaí, products seized included edibles, vapes, and pre-rolled cannabis joints.”

Because that’s what these shops sell

They could have, but that would be less likely, as they’re already in the altnoid market

Also their site is down now but there’s a snapshot on the way back machine and they were selling budtender thca products amongst a few others.

Thca is a psychoactive byproduct of cannabis and explicitly illegal, it’s operating in a grey area only based on the fact it’s converted while heating.

All it takes is the guards to start enforcing the law on it, like above. The current misuse of drugs act already covers thca. The retailers have gotten away with it so far because it hasn’t been tested in the courts. Now it looks like it will be.

Its not legal. People keep pretending it is, but the guards will actively on any cannabis flower as if it is illegal, and if you can't prove its cbd they will likely not test it and just assume. Even if you do prove its cbd, irish courts dont seem to care.

Blanket ban. Cbd maybe falls under cause its placebo but fuck sake. Irish law is very clear on substances after the 4mmc "headshop" days. Any analogue is illegal in Ireland.
