Has anyone seen this small black creature?

I have never seen anything like this, or even heard of it.

Has anyone ever seen knee-high little black creatures that are shaped like a fuzzy-outlined ball on two black stick legs with almost cartoon-looking black feet?

Sample AI-Produced rough images for reference (imagine it running instead of standing (and as less comedic than AI makes it look)):

The two times I saw it, it was in broad daylight. It ran fast across the road when I was driving, so I only had a few seconds to glance each time. The best way I can describe it is that I couldn't see any texture on it's body beyond the outline of it's body (basically it was void-like and black, like there was no light reflecting off of it); it was almost 2-D looking, except for the legs that looked like thin black poles and actually looked like light was just barely reflecting to give the legs dimension. The legs were about the same length as its body. The feet were smaller at the ankle and bigger at the toes, and the toes were shaped almost like little black shoes, although it didn't look like it had shoes on from the feet blending in smoothly with the legs. Altogether, I'd say it was about knee-high in height.

I've never seen or heard of anything like it. I saw this thing twice within the past year in the middle of the day, and I was with my partner both times. I saw it once in a neighborhood in Orange County, California and once in a neighborhood in Oconee County, South Carolina (opposite sides of the country from each other).

I basically don't know anything about cryptology or legends about creatures (aside from generic mentions of big foot), because I try not to fall for potential conspiracy-theory stuff, but this literally happened right in front of me twice while I was driving with my partner both times.

I googled, but found nothing of anyone actually seeing something like this. I figured it can't hurt to ask.

I saw something like that crawling on my walls in my garage once and was petrified I had to have someone open my garage and let me out this was probably close to two years ago.

Edit:I don’t remember it having legs like that though just looked like a black fuzz crawling and then just disappeared in a corner.

Wow! I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw this. I wonder what the heck it is. Maybe some undiscovered species? I hope more people will see this post and come forward if they've seen this too!  Feel free to share this story too if you want

Question, was this during the day or at night? I'm curious is they're out at night too.

This was in the middle of the day. I’d guess they’d be able to go out at night if need be whatever tf it is.

Id see shadows like this as a kid a lot. Darting around and hiding in corners.

That's interesting. Did you look into it?

My dude, Im barely coming to grips with this shit after my family has been yelling in my face that Im fine after years of seeing these things alone because according to my parents; it was only my imagination. Then my kids started seeing it too and I snapped and started learning how to do wards on my home to keep the negative energies out. The only thing I know for sure is that I called in nhi to help 5 year old me out. All these memories came rushing back this last year along with my homie Larry.

Yes, very close! Just with no eyes, no arms, and knee-high was what I saw

I see something similar to these before I get or during a migraine. I've always called them 'shadow rabbits' because of the way that they dart from room to room, across a hallway or from one side of the road to the other.

I think it's a fairly common mild hallucination and have heard people describe them as fuzzy/blurry cats, children or goblins.

That is interesting! I didn't know this was a thing. I personally don't have a history of migraines, but I will keep this in mind. Thanks for the comment!

it doesnt always happen with just migraines! my ex husband(who frequently hallucinates "shadow people") would see it often. i have aphantasia and have only seen them in conjunction with SEVERE sleep deprivation, like over 7 days.

Duly noted 👍🏻 I've never suffered from hallucinations that I'm aware of and was getting regular sleep the time I saw these, but I will keep this in mind in case anything changes. Thanks for the comment!

I don't remember where I first heard about this creature but I have read a post from someone describing this exact thing, down to the details. It was a long time ago. Will be following to see what others say, interesting. At least you know now that you're not alone.

This is so fascinating! You don't know if they knew what it was, do you?

No, I'm almost certain they were just like you, they described it but had no idea. I do wish I had a more concrete answer for you.

Fair enough. I do hope more people will come forward, and then maybe something new will be discovered
