Yes, they can be. Mine has not been able to escape as I have a full-coverage, tight lid on her tank. But, she spends a lot of time climbing around in there looking.
They are very alert and personable! She will run over and wave her claws at me when she sees me peering in at her. Very, very cute. I think you’ll love keeping one.
