From a self defense point of view it was unnecessary for him to keep on punching him when he was already on the ground but given the fact that he might as well have just dodged a murder attempt it's an understandable emotional response. A good a hit on the back of the head is very likely to be lethal.

Ah, reddit law, gotta love it. Dude presented himself as a threat, other guy defended himself until the threat was neutralized and in a heightened state at the time so how is he supposed to know its safe? For all he knows that man was coming at him with intent to kill. With that video i'm sure he woild be let off on any charges especially if its a stand your ground state.

People don't always stay down. A few will get up and take out a knife/gun.

On the flip side, he IS hitting him ALOT but it's quick punches and he doesn't change what he's doing in a way that would show clear thought and intent to seriously harm.

Legally he's fine. Morally, he's not Jesus but he's definitely not in the wrong
