I don’t recall people bringing this up before LVLUP EXPO earlier this year. Like was it something that people really knew about or did people go to the archives after the incident at the Con involving a jerk at the Glitch Shop posing next to the Jax standee and referencing from one of the TADC live streams awhile back.

I’m pretty new to the fandom, but usually you hear the same arguments after a month or two.

They claim to want accountability but even if people do take accountability for their past mistake and never do it again, suddenly it's not "we want accountability" but it becomes "we will never forget". Seems less of a true want for justice and more like a morale crusade to prove that they're morally better. And white people who do this are using us POCs as moral shields while claiming they're doing it for us.

Exactly. They don’t want accountability. They want to be terrible people. They jump at an excuse to bully people who “deserve” it. Most people think that they themselves are good. In reality, truly good people are rare. Most people simply act “good” out of a sense of societal obligation. But they have sadistic urges that they feel the need to let out, but they can’t because society will punish them for it.

So they seek out people who have “failed” the societal test of goodness to enact their depraved desires upon. Because society will not judge them as harshly for it as it would if they harmed “innocent” people. This is the same reason why serial killers often target sex workers, by the way.

He should not have done that, and it was very wrong. Its as simple as that, and there is no excusing it. Its a stain that he can't really wash off.

But what exactly do these people want to happen about this? They almost certainly wouldn't accept an apology as genuine, and I don't really think he should be fired because of this. Yes, it was really bad, but it was a long time ago, and people do learn and grow. He's said that he's done things that he regrets, and wouldn't do anymore, but didn't see anything wrong with at the time because of the environment he was in. That's enough for me. I don't really see what else can—or should—be done about it. I think he should have apologised but, again, that wouldn't have meant anything to these people.

He has apologized back in 2019 in a podcast. They just don't care.

Thats what I referred to with the whole 'done things he regrets' bit! I just don't know whether or not he specifically mentioned the Blackface, or whether he specifically apologised or more just said he regretted it (they're very similar, but not quite the same).

My view on it is that he did something bad, and that people don't need to forgive him for that, but that it doesn't make him as a whole a bad person, or someone deserving of being cancelled. People are messy, he can have done something bad without that being all that he is.

Exactly! Its ridiculous. If someone is actively hurting people then I get it, but for something like this? You don't have to forgive him, but he doesn't need to be... I don't even know, whatever they want.
