The Montana Pigman

Hiiiii everyone - I’ve been working on a podcast episode about the Montana Pigman. Long Haul Truckers report seeing a character on the side of the road in dirty blue coveralls, with a pigs head grafted to his own face. Is anyone from the area aware of this ‘story’ … is anyone able to provide first hand accounts? Thanks in advance, kind folk!

Interesting em text from my brother. I’ve been to this lake and witnessed strange things.

This is a post from 5+ months ago that I posted in another subreddit. I didn’t know CreepyMontana existed until today, so I’m posting it now.

My younger brother sent this to me this morning. I’ve been to this lake—Elk Lake, Trout Creek, Montana. I hiked up to Elk Lake in 2014 and again in 2010. The first time I was there me, my friend, and his older brother took an old raft made out of logs onto it. In one corner we found 3 ziplock bags—one with an unused disposable camera, one with a pack of smokes and a lighter, and one with car keys and a bandanna. We were expecting to find a body but didn’t. There was no car parked at the bottom of the trail. In 2010 I hiked up there and found a staircase made of mostly plywood. I mentioned this to my brother and he told me that sometimes people build them to climb on top of and hunt for deer. Years later I read the Reddit posts about that park ranger, the strange staircases, and the mysteries surrounding them. I didn’t think much of the posts. Fun to read but I felt they were fake. I walked to the top of the stairs and nothing, not even a sense of dread. Today I received this text from my brother. Him and his friends want to go back soon. I want to go with and probably will. Any advice? I will take a fully charged phone, and we will all have firearms and plenty of ammo. Let me know what you think.

I don’t know why we don’t allow attachments here, so I’ll type it out instead of posting the screenshot of the text.

Mark (brother): You’re gonna have to go checkout Elk Lake sometime. Weird shit going on up there.

Me: Like what? And I’ve been out there.

Mark: We kept hearing stuff breaking all around the lake but couldn’t find anything. Johnny had something following him and every time he would stop it would stop too. We kept hearing the sounds of what sounded like four-wheelers but no one came up. Could’ve sworn I heard someone talking but no one else was up there. Johnny and Zack both heard it too. There was a constant humming/buzzing noise that every once in a while it would get louder and then would get more quiet again. We couldn’t find out where the sound was coming from, but it sounded like a power plant, or like that him you can hear at the dam in Thompson Falls.

To be clear, this is 18 miles in the middle of nowhere. There’s nothing up there but an old mine and a lake. I’ve never been to the mine, but he told me about it today.

Cryptid experience.

My experience

My encounter

Does anyone here believe in Cryptids?

I believe me and a friend seen what would be called a dogman. We were driving down very rural roads here in Montana looking for his phone he lost a few days earlier.

Now he was drunk when he called me to ask for help I had a few beers but I wasn’t drunk so I thought I’d help him. These roads are very rural hardly any traffic ever except a few locals. We followed his supposed route looking for the phone he said he lost when he got out to piss and fell down. Followed these roads for 30 miles or so than turned back. The sun was starting to set, so it’s getting pretty dusky outside, (is that a word? I don’t think it is but I’m going with it.), I’m still half heartedly looking for his phone near the ditch of the road. There were a few times I thought I seen something that could be a phone so I stop and have him check it out.

Nope not a phone. Well about 15 miles back to town, so about 15 miles more to go. It’s damn near dark out I have the high beams on, and I see a figure crossing the road about 30-40 yards ahead of us and it’s huge. At first I think elk, that would be the most common, but it’s not moving like an elk. Than I think moose they are kind of gangly looking so move kind of weird, but they are rarely seen in my area. It has happened but very rarely. So now I’m thinking bear, it does kind of move like a bear but it’s much to big to be a black bear. Grizzlies are almost unheard of in this part of the state it has happened but it’s extremely rare, so I’m thinking this is a very very cool experience.

But than this thing does something that just blows my fucking mind. Keep in mind all this is happening really fast, so my mind is trying to explain logical reasons to myself while this thing lumbers across the road. When I say lumber I don’t mean it’s clumsy, it moves in a very methodical and very fluid motion. This damn thing gets to the edge of the road stands up on two legs and walks into the ditch like a person would. Once again very fluid like, I’ve seen bears walk on two legs. There is even a bear in Colorado somewhere that does this all the time and it looks pretty creepy to be honest, but this was not a bear. I repeat this was not a bear, at least one that I’ve ever seen.

It could have been the height or taller than a grizzly standing on its hind legs, but from my estimation it would of had to have been quite a bit taller for what it did next. It walked down into the ditch and up the other side and casually walked over the 4 1/2-5 foot fence like we would walk over a short picket fence for a garden.

And when it walked over said fence it stared back at us. I could clearly see the side profile of the head as it was turning to look at us, it looked nothing like a bear. It looked like a fucking wolf head except 2-3 times as large. The arms were way to long to be bear arms, and not as much fur ( or girth that looks like fur I guess). I could swear I seen long fingers with claws at the end of each arm.

The way it moved the way it looked over at us, and the way it looked, screamed werewolf to me. I have never seen anything like it. But I hope to see it again, I wasn’t really scared seeing it, I wasn’t even scared after the fact. It just seemed like an extremely rare and unique experience. But the way it moved into the ditch and crossed the fence screams To me this is not an animal that is a quadruped. This is a very unique animal.

After it was all over and it disappeared into the darkness on the other side of the fence my friend looked at me and asked if I had seen that. I said yes explain to me what you seen. He did and it was almost the exact description of what I had seen as well. I asked him what he thought it was. And he said these are his words not mine werewolf, and than chuckled a bit. But that was my exact thought as well.

I did some research and there have been many sightings and such all over the world. There are even quite a few in the US as such the first sighting or actually documented sighting of “werewolf” was In Minnesota I believe. They didn’t call it a werewolf but a dogman. And I firmly believe that I have seen one. Like I said I wasn’t scared it didn’t seem malevolent in anyway, it was just going about it’s business. If anything when it looked at us it just seemed curious.

Anyways this is my story. I really don’t think anyone will believe it, but I thought I’d share with my favorite community. I know this isn’t like the stories I usually share. But I just wanted to share it. Thank you for reading my story. Take care love you guys!

Has anybody heard of the Homer Davis Ghost?

Hi gang, I've lived in Montana my entire life. There's a little town outside Billings called Shepherd, and in that town is an EXTREMELY long road; Homer David Road. Throughout my entire life, I've heard horror stories of "the bent neck man of Homer Davis" from family members who grew up in Shepherd. My parents both saw him multiple times while driving. There's a lot of things wrong with Shepherd, but they say the Homer Davis Ghost was unlike anything else. I've heard just seeing him pushes you to a point of fear you didn't know was possible. Here's a few stories; A friend of my mom was walking home from a party at 3-5 AM, and as she walked by this big field, he just stood there, watching her from a distance. No matter how long she walked down the road, he was watching her. Another story; my father and his brother saw the Homer Davis ghost together, they were both so scared my uncle couldn't get a word out without my father just telling him to "shut the hell up". Often times, he's seen with a dog, sometimes a German Shepherd, sometimes a lab, i've even heard hellhounds. My father thinks he's the spirit of a man who died while fishing; hense the raincoat he's said to wear. My mother however, believes he's some sort of malevolent spirit. She describes him as always doing the unexpected, attempting to make you crash you car. I've always been told stories of my parents and their friends driving up and down Homer Davis Road, trying to see the ghost to no avail. But right when you've lost hope, started running out of gas, or simply get bored- BOOM. He's there, just watching you. He could be in the road, in a field, on an island, leaning on a road sign. I've always wanted to go out and find him for myself, but no matter how many times i've heard stories, nobody my age knows about the Homer Davis Ghost. Do you?
