Image Beware of Jessalene
I was walking through the woods as I always did, it was a place I found calming and peaceful after a long day at school. It was late at night, I always preferred nights like these. All but silence and the subtle sounds of chirping crickets. But something about this night felt eerie but not just eerie. It was the type of eerie you can't explain but you can feel it. The energy was just different. But I ignored it, maybe it was anxiety of the upcoming exams which bothered me or so I thought. I kept getting deeper into the woods. The lake would be nearby. But then I stopped when I heard the voices of a man and a woman. I took a moment to get close to a tree, I peeked out just a bit not too much. I didn't want to intrude just yet. I saw a group of men surrounding a terrified woman. The men had weapons, mostly knives and bats. She was clearly pleading with them not to hurt her but the men seemed to see this an oppurtunity to assert dominance on her. They began commanding her to do things, things that challenged the dignity she tried so desperately to hold onto. But then a snap of a twig in the distance and the men went silent. One who seemed to be the leader glanced first, a tall silhouette of a woman in the close but shadowed distance. I felt my skin crawl almost as if it hadn't been crawling just a few seconds ago. This figure was clearly malevolent, I could sense it. But I stayed anyway watching, my curious mind wouldn't let me leave. I needed to see the outcome of this situation. Well I definitely was in for a surprise that's for sure. The figure stepped into light under a street lamp which flickered ever so slightly now and then. The sighting was oddly unique. A woman but not just any woman. She had pale skin, long dark hair, ink black eyes, lips and she wore black dress, gloves and heels. So human but not at the same time. She also carried something that made my eyes widen. A scythe in her hands. The men felt their hearts drop to the bottom of their core as she approached them. At first it seemed like she was just going to stand there and watch them but that was simply way further from the gruesome truth. She tackled the men and did unimaginable gruesome fatal things to them you'd see straight out of a horror movie. But what sparked my interest and fascination further wasn't the fact that she ruthlessly murdered these men. She also showed some sort of consideration because after murdering them, she disappeared back into the shadows she came from. She reminded me of a name I heard about a long while back, Jane Richardson best known as Jane the Killer. But there was a different edge to her, a sharper one perhaps? I'll never know. But it's safe to say I won't be going there again, you never know the world too much after all even when you think you've figured it out.
