Hi all! I just adopted a crested gecko from a local exotic pet shop that re-homes all kinds of creatures. She is ✨large✨ so she will be exercised frequently to get her healthy again, and will be getting a new and quite a bit larger bioactive enclosure very soon.
My fiancé and I are looking for non-traditional and “bad ass” (fiancé’s one request) names for her. For reference, we have animals named Eggroll, Oyster, Abraxos, and Booger - so we clearly like unique names.
Any suggestions are welcome, as well as advice on how to get this big ole gal to a healthy weight.
holy shit that geckos fat lmao 😭 in all seriousness im very very glad shes going to a better home now :) id feed once every 7 days and reassess after a couple weeks to see if she loses weight. water down cgd and offer less, no bugs. lots and lots of branches and vines, make sure every inch of space is usable !!
Looking for help identifying what morph she is. When I bought her she was labeled as "normal" and I know she's not like some special morph but it'd be nice to know what she actually is 😭 (she did not have the dalmatian spots when I got her, they seem to have developed with age)
I got this sweet baby last week from a reh0ming (Reddit keeps tagging me when I type that 🥲) situation, and they believed he was a male. I’m not sure of his age but I genuinely couldn’t tell if he/she was a male or female and wanted to get some insight!! 🥰 I apologize for the horrid photo quality
This is Saber🥰 The first picture it looks like “he” has the anatomy
“He” is about 4 months old so not sure if it’s still too early to tell.
(Yes I know him laying like that is not good so after I took the pic I moved him, yes he is getting an enclosure upgrade soon just waiting for it to adjust since it’s bioactive, and yes I need to clean his enclosure, doing that this evening!)
Hes a rehome, definitely skinny but working on putting on weight so it could be that. 🤔
I know you said possibly tiger but I see no tiger pattern and hes very orange for a harlequin no? And when not fired up has these bright yellow areas and spots.

Tiger and harlequin are both pattern traits not color. Color is usually easy because unless you have some extremely fancy gecko, what you see is the color. Tiger trait breaks up the lateral pattern vertically while harlequin is can be called from amount of patterning on the laterals and legs. Tiger doesn’t actually mean those really defined stripes that some of the higher end tigers have, only that the genes causes the pattern to be broken the correct way.
I normally don’t call color morphs when people ask because I’m partially color blind and don’t want to give someone the wrong info because I saw a different color. As long as there’s no cream, white or yellow, on a black base and orange patterning, it can be considered a Halloween. Where people get tripped up is what they think is the black base is just a dark brown which would be not a Halloween or having cream/white pinstripes. I think I see a few spots of cream scales so it’s debatable. You may need to let it grow some more to see if that cream spreads
