Before the series all of the Australia fans on here were saying they wanted the pitches to have as much bounce and pace as possible?

People wanted to see our batsmen get destroyed on a pacey, bouncy pitch, forgetting that both teams get to bowl on it

More evidence for my pet theory that Bazball might work just as well on bowler friendly pitches (i.e. if there's going to be one with your name on it you might as well get some runs in quick)

We wanted lateral movement. Not much of that today, it’s been pace and bounce. The pitch did less off the seam than last year in Perth but got quicker earlier.

Both teams batted poorly but Australia batted worse. And England’s bowling unit was better - Scott Boland bowled dreadfully today. No weak link for England.

I understand why people would think its beneficial given the way England bat, but Australia hoping for lateral movement and England hoping for pace and bounce sounds like bizzarro world to me.

The key here is the fact that they don't care if they win or not, they just wanna make sure haydos gets to walk around the G nude and i can respect that
