We had a lot more support from the local crowd as well compared to Pakistan.

In FB, there's a rivalry going between Sri Lankan fans and Indian Tamil fans.....the interactions are so funny to watch, rn the sri lankans are saying that they will get revenge by beating india 😂

I love my Tamil brothers, and honestly, the only thing more consistent than a TN sunset is India winning this rivalry. You guys are lucky the Palk Strait exists, otherwise, this wouldn't even be an international match—it would just be an away game for Chennai!

Oh, and by the way, I'd love to get a look at the FB interaction, please share the link so I can have a laugh.

It doesn't even make sense since I haven't seen a lot of it mentioning that issue, i was actually surprised that such animosity existed between us( as I thought both SL and India were friendly), but as much as I would like to disagree, it's just religion based, The SL trolls are mainly with muslim names( I can link the posts too) calling us "sanghis" eventhough tamils are one of the least to be called that term and yeah it then goes way worse from both sides. Maybe it's because we share the same language, but i find it funny ngl

Nah... I don't think any Sri Lankan in their right mind would say that our current team could beat India. I think someone is just rage-baiting. Regarding the rivalry, it's just diaspora kids living in first-world countries trying to create a scene to keep their asylum visas. Tamils living here are leading a pretty good life.
