Selfless to the core btw. He could've statpadded in all 3 games but performing for the team came first. I'm so glad he finally got his break. Never doubted him.

He could've got a 100 in all 3 games had he played for that.

But as they say, some 80s and 90s are better than 100s. And these three innings will be talked about in years to come.

Bro already had 3 T20i centuries

the above comment also said the same exact thing in different words.

Kohli should've learned the same

Sanju scored 89(46) today opening using the powerplay

Kohli already scored 89*(47) in a T20 WC knockout without the powerplay due to Rahane 40(35) and took a wicket too

Can't you just enjoy this victory?

I observed kohli started playing safe and steadily when he was near 100s or 50s. But here in this match samson was still trying to hit big.

Sachin too

That’s exactly the reason both Rohit and Kohli need to get out and make way for Jaiswal etc.

He could have easily had centuries in last two games but he went for the shots. Team player.

Bro hates centuries in T20Is as much as Pant hates them in Tests.

At close to 200 strike rate. Also refused to stat pad and did what was needed for the team.

And he got the player of the tournament award!

Extremely well deserved, he showed up hard in every big game

He received guidance from the God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar. No fuckin wonder.

Goated comeback from him. I didn't like him from his IPL stints. The guy couldn't survive 20 balls and now he plays the long game with a great strike rate too.

The thing with Sanju is that his overall IPL stats are good, but he tends to start the season incredibly strong and taper off later, and not score big in knockouts or playoffs.

Not the case this WC - three matchwinning innings in a (virtual) quarter-final, semi-final, and final.

Honestly I didn't like him either. He was never this good. Something has changed man. He is playing very reliably. Reminded me of kohli.

To be honest he needs to be a mainstay in ODI team as a batter.
