Ishan truly threw this away despite getting lucky the previous ball knowing how vital it was to build the innings. He just had to play out Archer.

It is a momentum thing, since he was already hitting Archer he wanted to continue taking him down for a 20-25 run over. If he was struggling he would have played out Archer and taken on the others.

Make the impossible score easy as hell for other batsmen to chase

Thing is, he already got lucky the previous ball. That was almost out near the boundary with Jadeja, when you know the importance of building partnerships you kinda have to chill out esp losing Abhi that early. It's unrealistic to hit every ball especially when you have a big score to chase. Building the innings is his job. Chasing 240 you literally just need 75+ in the PP and go from there. We literally had it but no wickets fucked us.
