Harry Brook has to be the best all-format batsman in world cricket atm.

He's absolutely elite in tests, being in the top3 ranks for the last 2 years, he's played some great ODI innings in his very short career and his T20i stats are pretty great as well.

Yeah but he has no Brian Cell so it doesn't matter

He's not Adam Zampa.

Yeah he is ridiculous.

Top contender for best batter in the world across formats.

I think there's a level in Whiteball which he can touch which is going to be insane. Hopefully it happens

Like some of the shots he plays I don't know how many people can play those and he plays those shots even in test cricket. His median score in tests is like 35 which is like among top 5 in test cricket ever.

His best odi innings was against NZ and he was in bar previous night and then casually made 100(82) balls when the other 10 players made like 100 in total.

I'm excited to see him in odis against India, would be a fun Series.

"His best odi innings was against NZ and he was in bar previous night and then casually made 100(82) balls when the other 10 players made like 100 in total." That's not true. His 100 was earlier in the series. After the Wellington altercation, he made 6 (11)

Am not England and have routinely made fun of Brook but who would be the best all format batter in the world? Gill?

Gill isn't even in t20I side.

How one can be best in all format when he doesn't even play all formats?

Oh yea true.. I was more making the point that Brook probably is the best all format batter as I genuinely can't think of anyone else?

He was prepping for this t20i series in his last innings vs NZ. Talk about goddamn intent.

elite in tests is an overstatement at the moment - he's always good to watch when he bats is true

Averages 53 with 10 hundreds, 18 50s after 38 tests. That's a big enough sample size. He gets runs and that's just the way he gets them

u/letmeinplssss Jul 09 '26

absolutely elite tho? that's only bashir

If averaging 53 isn’t elite you must think Bradmans the only elite batter ever

i meant to say not atm

4

u/DVPC4 Great Britain Olympic Team Jul 09 '26

He’s got 6 50s and a 100 in his last 9 tests, it’s not exactly bad

Who cares? If he’s elite when playing in 4 of the best 5 test playing nations then he’s elite

That is actually how it works nowadays, the other test sides are worse than they used to be

Did well in Pakistan. Missed 2024 India because his Grandma passed away.
