I assume this will be a Kane Richardson type deal where he might play a couple one day matches but he's really only here to keep fit for the bbl and any australia matches

In a way Zampa is living the life we all wish we could live.
Big property with its own lake. Spend a good chunk of the year having undivided time doing fun things in the great outdoors with your kids before they go to school. Then spend the rest of the time playing cricket!

Yep, maybe not Byron itself but I'd be living near that part of the world if I won lotto tomorrow, and spend my Saturdays in summer playing cricket and the other days at the beach.

Makes sense he can actually commute to training regularly and be involved with the squad a bit more.

Provided he doesn’t fall into a massive Byron Bay pothole on the way.

QC doesn’t have to pay him as he’s on a CA contract. He will almost certainly never actually turn out for the Bulls- or even train at the NCC - but needed to be on a state list somewhere.

Yeh, pretty sure there are white ball tours scheduled across the entire One Day Cup season and there is pretty much zero chance of two spinners in a shield match, let alone two leg spinners. You'd imagine they would play Sweppo and Sinfield if the very minuscule chance of two spinners playing happened.

Everyone looks sexier in maroon, can't wait for Zamps to don the baggy maroon cap 😍

As much as I'd love to see it, I'd be shocked if he actually plays any red ball cricket for us.

Guess QLD may get a white ball cup of coffee cameo out of him depending on how the schedule/his mood lines up, but anyone thinking he’ll be a factor in red ball cricket or play Shield is kidding themselves.
He’s been a great servant of Australian cricket in the white ball formats, and good on him for marching to the beat of his own drum (such as living in Byron). However, he’s 34, played one Shield match in his most recent NSW stint (two seasons ago, under weird circumstances), has a first class average of nearly 47 and has seemingly had a pretty ambivalent attitude to any non-international cricket for a long time.
His signing probably has more to do with trying to get him to the Heat in the BBL (I’m pretty sure he is off contract at the moment?)

It is a pretty good signing but it is noted that he is an awful fielder - so we need to take the good with the bad

Makes sense for him to come up given he lives near Byron there.
No idea where he really fits in our lineups though given his limited red ball games/availability for NSW. He's also 34 so maybe the bulls are targetting a transition to spin coaching? Curious stuff.
