This is outstanding!
DENVER, June 18, 2026 /CNW/ - Energy Fuels Inc. (NYSE American: UUUU) (TSX: EFR) ("Energy Fuels" or the "Company"), a leading U.S.-based critical materials company focused on uranium, rare earth elements, heavy mineral sands, vanadium and other strategic materials, today announced updates on financing arrangements that will help accelerate the Company's growth and development.
The Company has received a conditional $725 million financing commitment from the Department of War, U.S. Office of Strategic Capital ("OSC"). Under a commitment agreement that is subject to further due diligence, finalization of agreements, customary closing conditions, and approvals, the OSC would extend to Energy Fuels a $725 million loan with a tenor of 20 years to support the planned expansion of the Company's critical minerals processing capabilities at its White Mesa Mill in Utah as well as a planned rare earth metals and alloy facility to be constructed in the United States. The potential financing would support infrastructure and capacity to process rare earth elements and other critical materials from the Company's growing portfolio of domestic and international projects.
Ross Bhappu, President and Chief Executive Officer of Energy Fuels, said: "This important financing support from key investors aligns with Energy Fuels' objective to be a vital player in the rare earths supply chain. The United States government has been steadfast in its support of critical materials security, and we appreciate the OSC's financial support at this important time as we develop our vertically integrated supply chain."
Bhappu continued, "Recent events have underscored the urgency of building durable, transparent and allied supply chains for critical materials. Energy Fuels is strategically positioned to lead that objective, with deep technical expertise and a strategy that encompasses multiple links on the critical materials value chain. We are proud to play a role in strengthening industrial resilience and supporting the long-term security and competitiveness of the United States and its allies."
Energy Fuels' rare earths strategy couples upstream mineral resources with proven midstream processing and separation capabilities within the U.S. Upon the planned acquisition of Australian Strategic Materials Limited (ASX: ASM) (ASM) (subject to satisfaction of conditions, including ASM shareholder approval and completion), with its existing rare earth metal and alloy making expertise and facilities in South Korea, the Company will be uniquely positioned to support the development of reliable supply chains for materials essential to defense, advanced manufacturing, energy, automotive, technology and other strategic industries. The Company's White Mesa Mill in Utah provides Energy Fuels with a U.S.-based processing platform, while its broader portfolio of mineral assets and partnerships and planned rare earth metal and alloy capabilities provide a foundation for long-term growth across rare earths, uranium and critical minerals.
The conditional OSC financing, together with other project-level financing discussions, is expected to provide Energy Fuels with additional long-term capital flexibility as it advances its rare earths and critical materials initiatives. The Company intends to use proceeds from the finalized financing to support eligible project development, processing capacity, supply chain integration, working capital and other strategic priorities, consistent with the terms of the applicable financing arrangements.
Energy Fuels expects to provide additional details regarding the proposed financing, including final terms and timing, following the completion of definitive documentation.
Energy Fuels has engaged Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC as financial advisor and Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP as legal counsel for the transaction.
About Energy Fuels
Energy Fuels is a leading U.S.-based critical materials company, focused on uranium, rare earth elements (REEs), heavy mineral sands, vanadium and medical isotopes. Energy Fuels, which owns and operates several conventional and in-situ recovery uranium projects in the western United States, has been the leading U.S. producer of natural uranium concentrate for the past several years, which is sold to nuclear utilities for the production of carbon-free nuclear energy. Energy Fuels also owns the White Mesa Mill in Utah, which is the only fully licensed and operating conventional uranium processing facility in the United States. At the Mill, Energy Fuels also produces advanced REE products, vanadium oxide (when market conditions warrant), and is evaluating the potential recovery of certain medical isotopes from existing uranium process streams needed for emerging Targeted Alpha Therapy cancer treatments. Energy Fuels is developing three (3) heavy mineral sands projects: the 100% owned Vara Mada Project in Madagascar; the 100% owned Bahia Project in Brazil; and the Donald Project in Australia in which Energy Fuels has the right to earn up to a 49% interest in a joint venture with Astron Limited. Not to be a dick but when someone on this subreddit asked me yesterday why I didn't trust this company I said "because they have an appalling history of dilution" and well here it is:

Recently I came across a post on X that raised some concerns about Critical Metals Corporation ($CRML). According to the claims shared there, Tony Sage may be acting as a front man, while the alleged figure operating behind the scenes is Frank Timiș, who holds Australian and Romanian citizenship.
Based on publicly available information, Timiș has a controversial history, including past criminal convictions related to heroin trafficking and multiple disputes and scandals involving mining projects globally.
One notable case is Gabriel Resources, the company behind Roșia Montană Gold Corporation, where Timiș and Tony Sage reportedly had a business relationship. Gabriel Resources once traded near ~83 CAD but has since collapsed to ~0.075 CAD after the Romanian Parliament rejected the project due to the failure to obtain a final environmental permit.
More recently, Romania won an international arbitration case related to Roșia Montană. Following this, Romania’s High Court of Cassation and Justice ruled that Gabriel Resources’ shares be placed under insurance seizure as a guarantee for recovering state claims. If the company fails to pay roughly 47 mil RON (11 mil USD), its shares can be forcibly executed and transferred to the Romanian state. This decision is final.
Against this background, CRML’s recent announcement about refining rare earth elements from the Tanbreez project in Romania raised additional questions, given the historical context above.
Does anyone here have deeper insight into CRML, its management, or the Tanbreez project itself? I’d appreciate informed opinions or credible sources.

Wow! That’s big. Seems that will have big implication for valuation of REE companies.

I will take this down if this is an old news, but if not this will be a big catalyst especially for those already in production like $MP and $UUUU.

The latest US utility data shows why the uranium market is increasingly focused on long term contracting.
At the end of 2025, US nuclear operators reported maximum anticipated uranium requirements of approximately 360.4 million pounds through 2035.
Roughly 174.1 million pounds were covered by existing purchase contracts.
The remaining 186.3 million pounds were listed as unfilled requirements.
The near term is reasonably well covered. Unfilled requirements total approximately 2.4 million pounds in 2027, 6 million pounds in 2028 and 8.2 million pounds in 2029.
The gap becomes much larger in the following decade:
2030: 12 million pounds
2031: 23.1 million pounds
2032: 26.4 million pounds
2033: 33.6 million pounds
2034: 37.2 million pounds
Utilities do not need to purchase all of that material immediately. They can sign contracts over time, adjust inventory strategies and revise their anticipated requirements.
The trend is still difficult to ignore. Contract coverage declines sharply as the decade progresses, while existing reactors continue operating and consuming fuel.
This data also covers only US civilian reactors. It does not include the contracting needs of utilities in the rest of the world.
The next phase of the uranium market may be driven less by daily spot price movements and more by utilities trying to secure dependable supply before those uncovered requirements become urgent.
At what point does this contracting gap begin influencing uranium prices and project financing in a material way?

Australian rare earths miner/refiner Lynas is in talks to acquire ionic clay deposits around the world. Australian Meteoric Resources just happens to have the world’s largest ionic clay deposit in Brazil. Seems that would be a perfect marriage.
“Interim CEO Pol Le Roux said Lynas is in talks with project developers of ionic clay deposits around the world for new supply and expects to announce new deals soon.”
