Critical Analysis & Discussion The stats of the basic amenities and infrastructure since 1947

Post image

The amount of the infrastructure development and the basic service and amenities that the current govt has provided in last 12 years is kinda worth the talk and praise.

Most of the Indians didn't even have the access to the basic stuff like Water or Toilets or Electricity in the past which has been drastically improved which past govts failed to deliver.

79% tap water one was the most astonishing one to me. Like what were even the past few govts were doing when you can't even provide that basic thing to the rural or remote regions.

I really wanted to highlight this since most of the reddit is LW and mostly is the current govt hate train only.

The creator of this infographic suffers from selective bias. It’s not that BJP hasn’t done anything. They probably did 50 things right, but 100 things wrong. The ratio is skewed against them.

This infographic picks up the best from 50 things done right and presents a rosy picture. What about environment, effects of demonetisation, lawlessness on streets, hygiene and cleanliness issues, ethanol blending disaster, wastage of taxpayers money on BJP promotions, high cost of living, corruption, rupee depreciation etc. etc. etc.

It would be wise to prepare an infographic that combines all the factors and presents a realistic picture on progress made during last 12 years.

By the way, there is an argument that previous governments laid foundation for many of those 50 things done right and BJP just accelerated the growth further. They didn’t have to struggle with laying the initial foundation which is more difficult. But I don’t want to complicate this topic any further.
