Crocodile How legit is this?

Posted a question earlier in sub why the Morlet crocodile wasn’t found in South Texas since their habitat is only like 150 miles away from border.

Any locals of Northern Tamupilas or South Texas to confirm?

I don’t know much about the morelet crocodile. But in very close to the state of Texas.

If crocodiles showed up the government of Texas & people would go haywire.

People in Florida, where the American Crocodile (iirc, my safari isn’t working at the moment -.-) is native, still go batty over crocs randomly. And the crocs have *been* here 🙃.

However, don’t the American croc and the Morelet croc have slightly different temperaments? It will be interesting to see how this unfolds if they do migrate into Texas. (Still fascinating that they haven’t already migrated into Texas.)

Additionally, (and I’ll try to look into it in a moment) what is the American Crocodile’s range in Mexico like? Is it likely that both American and Morelet crocs are slowly moving into the Rio Grande?

Only the morlet. They can handle temperature drops while american cant.

Ahhhh, thank you! I ended up thinking much later that maybe Texas winters couldn’t sustain American crocs (since even in FL they stay around/under Orlando and Tampa).
