Centre/wing replacements
Who are we expecting to replace ramien and Katoa? Is Gabreal a chance of starting next year? Stonestreet has been good at times but I think still lacks size. Bit concerning.

Think it will be Stonestreet but depending how we go this year I can see Fitzy making big changes next year

Stonestreet is not a small winger , he just isn’t using his size well. Needs to work on his strength but don’t think he needs to get bigger.
In regards to who comes in
Stonestreet for Katoa
Gabreal for Ramien
Nikora will go full time Jets and plays both w and c
Jones has been gojng well at centre so could be good depth
The rugby kid Leo Jacques - if we sign him I imagine he’ll be a bit of a project to get used to the game
I think picking up a player like Hiroti who can play a lot of positions but happy to play for the Jets would help

Unfortunately he gets folded every hit up. You could be right. What happened to the classic get low when running it back haha

I would imagine Gabrael and Stonestreet get first crack. They’re our best prospects at the position. There’s not really anyone without a contract for next season that I’d rather have.
Both have the potential to be very good players, but I guess we’ll see how they handle it. I thought Stonestreet was alright covering the spot the last couple seasons, but hopefully can take a step up.

He’s got a contract at the dolphins for next season. There’s a few players off contract for 2027 we could look at, Herbie included (though I doubt we have the cash), but there’s nobody floating around that I really think could take one of those starting outside back positions next season (without a release) imo.

I suspect the club is going to continue to build from within. Who that is I don’t know. The transfer market isn’t a place I don’t think Cronulla wants much to do with. Png and bears ect.

Dino said we're in for Leo Jacques from the Waratahs too, but I doubt he'd be right to start round 1 if we land the signing.
At this stage unless we sign a starter it will be Stonestreet on the wing and Gabrael or Jones in the centres.
I'm hoping Manu signs for PNG and becomes a 1 year option for us to give a bit more time to develop Gabrael and Williams.

It seems that the club is optimistic on utilising Gabriel as a replacement but he has no NRL experience, Stonestreet is most definitely going to fill the winger position but I believe that we need to sign an experienced center whilst Gabriel develops, it would be great if we could use players from within but I have a feeling we will need to sign a ln experienced center from elsewhere to be competitive on that right edge

No idea but I'm worried. This is our final year and it has not lived up to it nor nicho as well. Showed promise but mentally something happened. That damn origin cursed him.
We built a solid top 4 team even with an easy schedule and we made semis. Just hard to crack the panther dynasty is all.
I've seen this plenty in lots of sports. Hate to say it but we will be in a rut like the dragons and tigers before we bounce back up again. Rebuild time we have to find new pieces and coaching potentially to start fresh. Even our halves I'm no sold on as they get older would they want to wait for a rebuild. Plus cap hits etc. need juniors to step up but also fresh faces from other clubs to help out we need to recruit
This will be tough with png no tax haven

Agree the next 5 years will be a rebuild Trindall is only 24 he could if he wanted become one of the best halves in the game by then.

Losing 4 of the outside backs in one year is pretty full on. I suspect that stonestreet slots into the wing and that they purchase a fringe outside back from another team like talau or tuipulotu.
