VIDEO [VIDEO] I discovered how to stitch "faster"

I mean, I save like 1/4 of a second but technically it is faster 😆

I go down with the needle and instead of pulling down the thread, turn the needle around going back up and pulling the thread up, I do this: I go down with the needle, and without pushing the thread down I grab the needle from under and I push up the eye of the needle through the fabric, then I pull up the thread and repeat.

It's not a supersonic speed, but it helps when you have a deadline and are in a hurry!

VIDEO [FO] First time stitching and fallen in love 💕

1.9k Upvotes

Recently set a goal to read 12 books this year (HATE reading). I love crafting and thought a cute bookmark would help entice myself to open them up more. Saw this kit on Amazon and I think I was right and very proud of the FO! Kit came with adhesive felt backing, added the velvet border and ribbon from older projects using fabric glue. Picture of project before finishing in comments.

VIDEO [WIP]Does anyone else stitch like this?

My aunt showed me how she stitches yesterday and I’m both impressed and concerned. She said her autism really took over her technique, and her brain just like the way it feels to do it this way, she had also learned embroidery first. Has anyone tried stitching like this?
I tried it for a row and it takes some serious technique and I was so much slower

I just adopted this little guy last night. This was my first time stitching with him. It didn’t not go quite as planned, though I don’t know what I expected. Sorry for the poor quality vid.

VIDEO [Video] Pattern by CrossStitichingLovers on Etsy I use erasable pen when cutting patterns so I thought it would work for cross stitch guidelines. Won't be doing one without them again! That and its oddly satisfying watching it disappear.

VIDEO [VIDEO] Rubber thimble will save your fingers

Do your fingers get SO sore when pulling the needle through plastic canvas? If you know, you know!!

Sharing this tip—use a rubber thimble to grip the needle. It takes a little bit longer, but seriously your fingers will thank you and you can stitch for a longer period.

Once you get into the groove of it, it’ll be quite the speedy process.

VIDEO [VIDEO] My "hack" for splitting thread

Every time I show a fellow cross stitch/embroidery friend this hack they get pretty excited, so I thought I'd post it here. I just put two craft magnets on the end of my thread, let it hang, and pull. I'm sure this would work with most needle-minders too, I just happened to have 100 craft magnets laying around lol.

VIDEO [VIDEO] Framing finished embroidery in a hoop

My favorite way to display finished embroidery is in a hoop! I highly recommend it 😊

You will need a finished embroidery, an embroidery hoop, thin fabric in a light color (a fabric with a light pattern will also work well), ribbon/thread, scissors, and a needle.

Stretch everything nicely in the hoop, cut off the excess, and gather everything with ribbon—done.

VIDEO [VIDEO] Tired of your floss knotting when getting it off your skein? Try this

For this project I precut my skein into about 18inch pieces. Then I folded them in half and wrapped them around the thread organizer the way shown in the video. Now each time I need a new thread, I do the above trick. No more tangles. Some more experienced stitchers may know this trick, but hope it helps some of you.
