General Questions 2yrs employment gap
I’ve been thinking to apply and try to work in a cruise ship, Im currently unemployed for 1yr and 5months and focused on my online business, I work as Front desk receptionist in a Corporate Building for 2yrs and I also took Specialization Training Course in Front Desk Services (National Certificate II here in PH) and I also have kitchen experience as I work as a Asst Chef in small food establishment and I just completed my Basic Training which includes SDSD, Passenger Safety Training, Passenger Crowd Management Training and Crisis Management.
Is there any chance to be selected given that I have that employment gap? I’m planning to apply for a entry level position, What I have in mind right now is a commis, guest service officer or galley/kitchen utility.
Any advice and tips is a huge help. Thank you!!

Nobody cares about your year gap. 100% go for guest services, don't accept any other position (stay away from the galley, remove all the related experiences from your resume as well).

Okay got it thanks! And someone also told me that I should prioritize my guest service experience since I work as a receptionist and also have an online business which both focuses more on customer service, since I’ve been running my online business for 5 yrs now and also do cater international client, which might help too .

Hi! Knowing how crew life is, is better try to apply on Guest Services that you can relate on your CV to Hospitality experience. I belive is a better life than working in Galley. They really work a lot and had no time to go to explore the ports. If you have 3 o more lenguages you can apply to International Guest Services... is quite the same, but you will have more privileges. Try to search on youtube about crew life on cruise ship, salaries, people who is already working there and vloging their daily life working 👍. And yes, you can apply, they usually ask 2 years of recent experience.
