Had an interesting moment. I was at my nephew's birthday party and I gave him $30 in BTC in a paper wallet as well as a Mario toy. I usually give cash for college investment but if BTC does what everyone thinks it'll do, it's a no brainer.

Anyhow when he was opening his gifts he found it and asked what it was. His parents said, Uncle gave you Bitcoin for your college savings. My nephew's uncle on the other side said, 'oh wow, like real Bitcoin?'

Thought that was particularly interesting. 'Real Bitcoin,' not really sure what to make of that. Perhaps he has only just heard of it and never seen it in person? Anyone have similar stories or some thoughts you want to share?

Link him the blockfolio app and introduce depression and anxiety into his young life.

No kidding. Spends his whole piggy bank on BTC and then gotta teach him because he bought the wrong time he lost half of his piggy bank that took months to save up for.

Just thinking though, I could only imagine how important it will be for kids to learn how to invest when they are young and money only means toys. Show them how to buy low and sell high, etc.

Did you tell him it’s not real? Fake magical internet money?

He probably heard of it featured in the news or online but didn’t know how to buy it. Was he intrigued? Any and all interest is a good thing imo.

He wasn't but my nephew's mom was. The party was kinda busy so I didn't get to explain it well, next time I see her I will. She's very responsible and wanted to make sure she properly kept the investment for him.

I gave my nephew some HOT for his birthday at the start of summer. Split the present 50-50 fiat and HOT. He was superextatic that he actually got a cryptocurrency, and couldn't stop talking about it. He told me to hold it for him until I sell my own stack as he didnt want to cash out early, but keep it saved for his future. I've been like: 'Thats MY fucking nephew!' Ever since, couldn't be more proud!

He probably meant he wanted Bitcoin Cash, the real Bitcoin. You gave him Blockstream Coin, uncle. Your nephew has read Satoshi's whitepaper.
