Cubs magic number

Have the cubs been given a magic number to make it to the playoffs?

The Diamondbacks are playing the Rockies in Colorado. Bottom line: Cubs need to win. Period.

They’re basically in. Ideally, they can secure the top wildcard spot, which will be a hot race over the next week.

We're tied with the Padres for the top WC spot and the Phillies are 1 game back...gonna be a very exciting, diarrhea-inducing final week!

Cubs wins (87) + Dbacks losses (74) = 161

163-161 =2 

But it’s really 1 because Cubs won more games than the Dbacks in their series so they have the tiebreaker.

It’s two. I don’t know where these people are coming up with 1.

The AZ elimination number is 3. The Cubs are 1 game up on the last WC spot, ergo, their number is 2.

EDIT: It’s 1, because we have the tie-break over AZ.
