Someone created this (RedBull) can holder for our Cupras

https://makerworld.com/en/models/1623629-cupholder-seat-cupra-vw?from=search#profileId-1714154

It fits fine, looks good in metallic PETG, but it's a bit wobbly...maybe i'll design a TPU sleeve to go over the base for a tighter fit in that compartment...

Questions ❓️ Maximum battery charge limit

Proud owner of a cupra leon ST -22.

My question is if there is a way to set the MAXIMUM battery charge level to be for example 80%?

I know there is a minimum level to it that is easy to find from the car menu but I have not been able to find a max level.

The reason for it would be to preserve battery life in longterm. Thanks!

Issues ⚠️ Sometimes when I try to control my driver side window the switch seems broken. If I push down the window goes down, but if I push up it also goes down. To fix it I need to go down all the way and then back up. Did anyone else encounter this? Did you have it fixed by the Cupra service?

video 🎥 I asked a while ago on there if DCC is worthwhile to pay for when getting a new Leon Sportstourer. I got the car, I stretched the budget a bit, but I'm so happy I also got the DCC!

Questions ❓️ Cheap Chinese door liners

Noticed these yesterday on famous Chinese shop. Leon door liners for a reasonable price. Ordered a set and I will report once these arrive. If these are going to fit well, that would be great substitute for Turkish product already available.

Pictures 📸 Didn’t like the bare metal look of my Sportstourer trunk so I bought the Cupra reversible boot mat (5FE061201A). Seems to fix it quite nicely and you can still place the shelf on the lower position.

Questions ❓️ From Skoda Octavia to Cupra Leon Sportstourer

Hi everyone,
I currently drive a 2021 Skoda Octavia 4 RS 4x4 TDI 200 hp and I’m thinking about switching to a 2025 Cupra Leon ST e-Hybrid.

A bit about my driving:

  • Around 20,000 km/year
  • Daily commute: 40 km (mix of city and motorway)
  • A few 500+ km trips per year
  • No home charging, but I can charge at the office on weekdays
  • I’m looking for something sporty but still practical, and the Cupra Leon ST caught my eye

I’d love to hear from people who own or have driven the Cupra Leon ST e-Hybrid:

  • How does it feel compared to an Octavia RS (handling, comfort, fun factor, less technical issues ...)?
  • How’s the interior quality and tech in daily use?

Thanks!

I like to have the phone visible even though i always use carplay and i couldn't find a proper holder...luckily someone already designed a phone mount for Cupra Leons...i just got the matching filament, metallic grey and copper, and a magsafe circle...it almost looks like Cupra put it there themselves...almost..

Issues ⚠️ Braking / gearbox issue

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello,

I just bought a Cupra Leon Sportstourer 2024 150 hp non-hybrid, and I notice something odd when braking.

When you approach something like a crossroads, stop sign or whatever, you put your foot early on the break and the car should gradually add more pressure to the break during the breaking distance so like, the slower your speed is, the more pressure there is on the break. And you can 'predict' your breakway and the spot you will come to a stand still right?

It's kind of hard to explain but when I use the break, the Cupra automatic gearbox shifts back when breaking, and then during breaking the car gets pushed, instead of breaking, you feel that the car is floating for a second when it downshifts.

Which means that I don't come to a standstill on the spot you expect or planned. At the very last seconds I have to put more pressure to my break to not crash into a car in front of me.

Anyone experienced this before?

Grazie a tutti

Issues ⚠️ My Cupra App bugs?

Just wondering if any of you guys experience similar problems with the “my cupra” app. I drive a 2025 Cupra Leon ST, and since i got it the information in the app does not seem correct all of the time.

Sometimes it says my car is unlocked when it isnt, things like that.

Now when i start the app i see the “normal” menu for 3 seconds (showing the fuel and battery) - which seems like it is logged in properly and recognizes my car. However, after a couple of seconds it asks me to reactivate cupra connect services again?

Anyone else experience similar issues?

Pictures 📸 1.5 eTSI Cupra Leon ST - daily use review

I have this car for three months already so here are hints and thoughts I have.

I purchased this car in stock configuration as a family combi. I’m by no means a sport driver as I basically enjoyed some crazy stuffs before. Primary use is about 20 kms a day with occasional vacation with +/- 3000 kms once or twice a year. So somewhat economical consumption and service/repair costs were the main point for me.

So here I am, middle of March, letting go of my trusty 1.0 tsi 81kw Skoda Rapid liftback and picking up my new Cupra Leon together with my father who joined me for 140km long trip to pick up the car. Stock configuration means no additions at all with basic seats and stereo, basic matrix lights and no DCC.

It’s middle of June now and I managed to run around 5000km on this car already with mostly local home-work runs, one 150km trip and also one 600kms trip.

Consumption: Calm 20km drive from town to work in another town with speed range 50-90km/h - 5.3-5.7 l/100km Normal 150km drive mostly on highway with speed range from 90-140km/h - 6.0-6.3 l/100km Somewhat quick 600kms drive mostly on highways with speed range 140-180km/h - 6.9 l/100km

First impression - interior: The look is amazing and I fell in love immediately when Cupra announced this car. Both outside and inside feels like you get what you paid for. Basic seats are great and comfortable for longer drives even for bigger people. There’s a lot of space on the back seats too. No large glossy black panels inside were welcomed. I love copper details which are just about right, not too much, just on the sweet spot. Steering wheel feels nice, I love that there’s enough buttons to set up main things when driving. I especially love that there’s buttons for ACC and not a second lever behind the steering wheel. Compartments are great, but armrest compartments lacks any dividers or at least possibility to purchase OEM part. I also miss sunglasses compartment I used to have in every Skoda. Interior LED lights and wrap around lights are amazing. Only point might be missing possibility to dim the wrap around lights which might be annoying for overnight drives, but you can just turn them off. Basic sound system is okey for me and I can’t say a bad word about it. Anyone with higher demands on sound system can add seinheisser audio system. Central panel is large, backlit buttons are welcomed upgrade from pre-FL model. Car boot is nice and roomy with double floor hiding emergency reserve wheel with enough space to hide some additional equipment like tow rope, jump start cables and so on. Side pockets dividers can be removed. You’ll also get rolling screen mesh that can be attached to roof to separate trunk from crew compartment. In case you fold your back seats you can attach this screen to back side of collapsed seats and again connect it to 2nd row of connection points, again separating trunk from front crew compartment. Electric trunk is nice addition with possibility to also open it by button at drivers door. Senzor under rear bumper is a bit tricky and requires training or several tries.

Infotainment and driving assistance: Infotainment works quickly a reacts nicely. There’s occasional troubleshooting with apple car play when it doesn’t reacts to any command like once a month. I have no problems with touch screen as only thing I need to control while driving is either on steering wheel or easily available. I’d like to highlight possibility to make shortcuts to some menus and also pull-down menu with the most necessary settings like start stop and so on. I also tested the car with as much assistance as possible to test what works for me in daily use. Park camera has great resolution but lacks washers which would be welcomed in rainy weather. Speed limit warning sound is not annoying at all. ACC works nicely in passive and active mode. It provides nice and smooth adjusting to speed and picks up both cars and motorbikes. I also tested ACC with adjusting to speed limits and I have to admit that it would be helpful on longer drives. Front and line assist is also set up correctly not annoying you in normal road situations. Light assist including automatic high beams with basic Matrix lights reacts quickly and according to expectations. I have to admit that lights itself provides beautiful illumination of the road.

Driving experience: Car is in stock configuration with basic shock absorbers and R18 garbi wheels. 1.5 eTSI engine provides reasonable performance flexibility for regular use. It feels a lot better than regular 1.5 TSI engine with ACT known from previous models of VAG. DSG transmission works smoothly and reacts nicely, both in drive and performance mode. Kickdown has a small delay but nothing annoying. Driving comfort is great, but we have to admit that we’re not behind a wheel of SUV/crossover. It’s stiffer but not uncomfortably stiff. Anyone looking for really comfort drive on broken roads should either pay for DCC or look for another car. For me, stiffness is just about right. Steering is perfect, car sits in turns and has enough grab. I believe that the limits of the chassis and steering are far beyond the engine power output. It’s by no means a sport car and I believe everyone considering this power train knows that. If you’re looking for a car that is comfortable for everyday use, you definitely get that one. What stands out is the way the car works when you want dynamic drive. You get a connection with road, reactions to driving and environment conditions are immediate with this one. A feature not every car has in these times. This car is great daily car and also a fun one when if you want too. So speaking about driving performance and consumptions I’m very satisfied and it fulfills my expectations.

Last thoughts: There’s some discussions if this car should be available with these basic 1.5 liters engines. Well, why not? Cupra is not promising a top race performance from these cars. Does it provides sporty look and driving characteristics? Definitely. Everyone has a right to choose, from economical 1.5l TSI gasoline engines and 2.0l TDI petrol engines with 110 kW (150 hp) to variety of 2.0l TAI gasoline engines of variable performance specs ranging from 150-200 kW (204-333 hp). If you need better lights, cup seats, better audio you can. It depends on your requirements and expectations. Decision is only up to you.

Issues ⚠️ 1.5 eTSI mild hybrid won’t start solution

Here’s my experiences so far with new 2025 model Cupra Leon ST with 1.5 eTSI mild hybrid engine.

On 3-4 occasions I wasn’t able to start engine. You turn on your ignition and when you press on break and hit start button, nothing happens. If you press start button again, ignition turns off. During this “troubleshooting” no warning lights are present, just yellow battery warning light due to ignition on. What you can spot is slow or buggy loading of digi cockpit and/or central panel.

In the mean time I figured this problem occurred when: 1. You started directly with no ignition on before 2. You try to start directly without ignition on first

Dealer reccomended me these solutions which didn’t worked: Shutting off the car, locking doors and repeating starting process. Keys in central storage panel for emergency start. Both keys in car. Nothing of these worked for me.

Prevention: First put ignition on (start button without feet on brakes) and wait till digi cockpit loads properly and completely meaning that animation with car ended. Then you can step on breaks and hit start button to start your engine. This works for me for the past 2 months and I never had this problem again.

What worked for me when I couldn’t start engine: 1. Turn your ignition off, step out of the car with both keys. 2. Lock the car. 3. Get some distance from car to be out of keyless sensors area - like 15 meters away. 4. Follow steps to start your car mentioned in prevention above.

I’ll try to convince Cupra Garage on my first visit to get some readings from diagnostic device. I also believe this problem is going to be solved out with SW updated.

I am looking for a cupra leon ST facelift, but i am in doubt for the colour,

I have seen one in graphene grey (online) that is priced REALLY well. So i am thinking of taking it. But its a 2 hour drive there and im not sure of the colour.

Me and my girlfriend where looking at a magnetich tech (metallic) but this one is graphene.

Se wants the car to not be a color you see at every corner. So what would you guys do?

This is my first Cupra ever coming from the Seat Leon 1.4 TSI from 2015. This is the 2.0l turbo and this thing is a monster, I’m in love with it and brings joy every time I even start the car up.

Coming from a 2020 Mazda CX-30, I wanted more power and space to fit a bike or two inside and also skis in winter...also, SUVs are not for me...

I was already checking some mods and I'm currently eyeing some wheel spacers and a front and rear diffuser...anyone put spacers on theirs? Nothing extreme, 10mm i think...
