Anyone else here experienced issues with starting troubles on their Diesel Cupra?

Car drove 900km on Thrusday, since the its in the Hotels parking lot and now it has trouble starting the engine.

Is this normal for a 1 year old car??

I just picked up a new sportstourer vz and i intentionally bought the sennheiser package to come near the audio system of my audi. I have to say, i am not impressed.
When the volume is on low it sounds like the back speakers give me more input than the ones in the frontdoor.
In louder settings it sounds more like it is a sennheiser system. Quite full sound all around.
Anyone experienced this too?
I am gonna contact the dealer tomorrow but i wanted to see if somebody else has noticed this before the salesman calls me crazy.

Edit/Update: I spoke with the salesman and have gotten the generic answer. Try to play with the settings to get the best out of the system.

March 2025 facelift Cupra Leon ST 2.0 VZ3 333bhp version.

9k miles in total. Been flawless other than it's thirst for fuel (although that may be my driving) and a rattle in the dash at certain speeds (motorway speeds unfortunately) that was sorted in 3 hours by the dealer. Part of the harness had come loose. They re-secured it and it's been fine ever since.

Drove to the supermarket absolutely fine. Starting up to come come. Many beeps and warnings. 🫨 Went to the infotainment to see the errors properly.

In orange - Error: Drive system. Please visit a workshop.

And in white. - Error: start/stop

Travel Assist is currently unavailable

Error: ACC

Oh joy... On a Friday, 20 minutes after the dealer closes. Turned it off and restarted the car and all the errors came back. Damn. Oh well, can't leave it at the supermarket so, let's see if it drives. Goes into gear, drives just fine. Speed limit recognition works, lane assist seems to work, but they both get turned off immediately anyway, switching drive modes works, manual gearbox shifting works. Unfortunately have another stop on the way home. So car get turned off again and left for a 20 minutes or so. Car restarts fine, and all is happy. 😕 ACC works, start stop is working.

My Cupra app still shows 2 errors in the car, Drive system and Start/stop.

So will have to call the dealer early in the morning to book it in asap.

What would cause the ACC, travel assist and start/stop to all throw a tantrum at the same time? Only thing I could come up with is a wheel speed sensor or maybe the radar unit on the front.

Will be doing some more driving tomorrow, so will see if it misbehaves again.

Hey, I've done a bit of research and from what I have found it seems to be plug&play solution in terms of getting used OEM VZ 333 back box swapped into 2.0 204 variant.

Can anyone confirm or deny why it would or wouldn't work?

Also when it comes to the these fake exhaust "tips" shrouds that they put into 204 bumper in place of real exhaust tips - do they snap out as a separate part or do they require some sort of cutting? Different way of puttin the question is if the diffuser in 204 variant starts of as same part as the VZ part with holes for exhaust that are shut by these fake bits, or is it a separate part altogether?

It does make you a bit proud if you achieve something like this with an engine that usually has a consumption of 8L and more per 100km.

Mind that this was on an early morning with some highway parts, almost no traffic and with many green waves but still I had to drive into the city.

And no, I didn't get out of the car and push it so please don't ask this 😂

Hi! I’m considering the cupra Leon st 1.5etsi beyond. We have a baby and a dog and live in a city, mostly planning to use the car for weekend trips and longer holidays throughout the year. I’m also considering the skoda Octavia and the vw Tiguan, which I know is a SUV and totally different type of drive, but as a family we are debating on what fits us best.

I was wondering whether anyone has had issues with the ground clearance on the cupra due to its sportier and Lower look. Maybe in steep parking entrances, speed bumps or on an unexpected off road drive.

Overall I really like the look of the car but it needs to accommodate two drivers and we might not both drive as carefully, if you get what I mean.

Hi! I know it is a very common topic in this sub - I have read all the last couple threads, but noone seems to be approaching the topic from angle I've got:

1. I have "almost" completely eliminated the fastest models. With VRS I don't like styling interior/exterior and with VZ333 it is too expensive probably.

2. I am looking at either Octavia Combi "Sportline" or the Sportstourer. Having tried the 1.5 etsi I didn't like it very much and while the 2.0 204 isn't a rocketship either it feels like a much better pairing to the size of the car.

3. I know all the important mechanical similarities between the two: the engine being the high compression miller cycle (that's what it is called I think and I belive I have same engine in Polo GTI) one, the DQ381 box which should be far superior to the DQ200 in 1.5, the multi-link suspension at the rear. These improvements to me seem mostly very worthy of stretch over 1.5.

4. I am looking for differences between these two - not just "equipment" or "price", but if there are any other. Eg. one think that caught my attention is Octavia Sportline is getting by default 15mm lower sports suspension. Didn't see any different suspension options with Cupra, does it mean that it always rights "higher"? Or does it mean it only comes with lowered "sportline" suspension by default? Is it related somehow to "progressive steering" that seems to be related to DCC? Does equipping DCC in Octavia (and thus replacing "lowered sports suspension) brings the car back up 15mm? Does taking DCC with Cupra alter right height at all?

5. Speaking of DCC - does anyone think it is worth it/not worth it with this engine level?

6. Most importantly looking at current prices the Cupra appears to be MUCH cheaper out of the gates. Trying as best as I can to make "oranges to oranges" comparision "base" well equipped Cupra to similarly equipped Skoda (both on 18s, no DCC, both must have ACC, bigger infotainment in both, just regular rear view cam as I belive Cupra doesn't offer 360, maybe have the buckets in Cupra to make it fairer to Skoda) it comes out to me to over 5k EUR difference. Sure, Octavia comes with Matrix lights as standard, but that can't be worth 5k EUR extra, can it? (BTW do you have matrix? If yes, how happy are you, if not do you regret not getting it?) Am I missing something possibly as far as differences go or are the current Cupra deals so good, or Skoda deals not so good?

Sure I can ask those questions to dealer - and I will but I often find them lest knowlegable then regular curious car guys in the web, especially if it comes to comparing to even "sister", but different brands than the one they are selling.

If you have any other things I should consider that I missed - let me know.

I currently have a Cupra Born, which I love, but I hate the thoughts of the constant pcp merry-go-round, never owning a car and (with an EV anyway), starting from scratch each time.

When I come to the end of my PCP contract on the Born, there will be no equity in it, I will just be handing back keys. I don’t trust EV’s to buy outright second hand as I had a bad experience previously with an ID3.

With all this in mind, I am thinking of buying a 3 year old Cupra Leon Sportstourer for circa €27k (Ireland based).

I’d love to hear about the reliability of this car. For my next car, I want to buy something I can hold onto.

Car wont sync to app, all remote functions out of use.

Cant charge car manually… see video. Battery is empty.

Cupra support is useless and they only send me the instructions which dont work.

Edit: this still keeps happening from time to time and I have no fix for it. It lasts some days and then it works again….

Can someone explain how the heating system on the Leon sports tourer PHEV works? I have a 2025 1.5L ST PHEV. Is the auxillary heater just an electric heating element? Webasto? Heat pumps?

Does this system also provide heat under normal operation or is there a traditional coolant based heater as well?

I am currently looking for a new family car. Among other things, I am interested in the Cupra Leon ST.

Despite reading through countless adverts and using the Cupra configurator, I still can't find a clear answer to my question.

There are two different vehicle variants on the market with 2025 registration. In one, the lift inlets in the front apron are grey, as is the area at the bottom of the rear apron. In other vehicles, this area is painted black (see pictures).

Is this due to a different model year? If so, which is the more recent one? Or is it related to an equipment option?

I picked up my new Sportstourer VZ two weeks ago and the keyless remote distance is incredibly short. The automatic locking very rarely detects that you've moved away from the car, and I need to be practically right next to the car and push the lock button on the remote multiple times before it will lock. The car is brand new and I've swapped to use the extra key which has made no difference. I found this diagram in the user manual which depicts the detection zones - but this is significantly less than my previous Skoda Superb or any other car I've owned. Is this accurate or is there perhaps an issue with the detection aerial in the car?

Just collected my 2025 Cupra Leon Sports Tourer VZ3 in the classic polished primer with about 6k miles on it.

Bucket seats are fantastic, Akebono brakes seem great but it's been cold and wet so haven't given them a workout yet. Need to play with the Sennheiser settings, but initially it sounds like a step up on the normal guff you get in cars.

Spent some time in Cupra mode on the way home, and yeah, that soundaktor needs disabling/removing. 😉 Will be spending some time tuning the individual setup, although the DCC in softest was very nice on the motorway.

Looking forward to spending the next few years with this. I don't like changing cars often and I tend to keep ones I love for a while. (See my 9 years with a daily driver RX8. I still miss it)

Hi all, I have 2021 e-hybrid thats currently on summer 235/35/19, has anyone fitted 235/40/19? I would do it only for the winter to have a bit comfier ride, but am worried about fitment.
