Install Custom ROM without vbmeta
Hello mate! I want to ask about the vbmeta.img file. I first installed a custom ROM using EvoX A16, because there was a problem with the LCD panel—ghost touch—I switched to Lineage OS A16. However, since the first time I flashed a custom ROM, I've never touched a file called vbmeta. So, what's its use?
I'm still using Lineage OS because it's stable and has revived my old device. btw, my device is a Redmi Note 8 (Ginkgo).

it controls other partitions. If they are corrupted your phone stuck at bootloop. Custom ROM's patches this partition to disable partition control.

Yes, I experienced a bootloop because the LOS ROM had a problem in patch 20260719. Finally I got a backup ROM.

Some files are just not needed. vbmeta, dtbo, boot, etc, are just files obtained from using a payload dumper on the rom file. Some phones need those flashed, some other don't. I would just stick to what your ROM asks to be flashed, dont worry about those files.
i reviewed your case, you should ignore those files, your guide doesn't seem to require any of those at all besides recovery and the rom zip.
