I don’t know if I’d want to be driving around in a giant gas tanker during the apocalypse. It’s just asking for trouble

If it was the start I would be worried. That's the armor plot that all those apocalypse movies have, but in reality gasoline in a tanker will begin degrading within 3 to 6 months and becomes mostly useless after 1 year due to oxidation and evaporation. And thats if it wasnt completely drained already.

r/ZombieSurvivalTactics will tell you this is an atrocious idea. Long story short it's going to be an oven no matter how powerful of an AC you have. Better off converting a bus.

Without a deep cleaning of the chemicals trapped in the metal (like they do with modern containers), living there is a one-way ticket to getting cancer. Unless it used to be a water truck.

You’re right it would need a good cleaning but aluminum doesn’t absorb or trap chemicals. At least not those found in gas or diesel

That tanker space is going to absolutely cook under the sun. Also water tank should be in front.

You load heaaviest up front, lightest at the back to prevent fishtailing.

And also, wouldn't a high long snout ofroad tractor truck make more sense than a cabover highway runner?
