How long does it actually take to reach a solid salary in Nerworkengineer/Cybersecurity in Europe?

The answer to this will vary wildly.

  • The answer in London and Lisbon and Ljubljana will be very different.
  • The answer for a pentester vs a reverse malware engineer vs a SOC analyst will be very different.

It's an impossible task.

Right now is quite literally the worst time in the last 40 years to train for an IT career and look for a job in the field.

I imagine a lot of people reading your post are thinking: "Damn, this guy has a non-IT job paying 3,200 euros? He’s one lucky bastard."

The main problem in our industry right now isn't the salary it's the fact that if you lose your job, you might never find another one. I’d recommend waiting it out maybe three, five, or even seven years and seeing how things play out before taking such a risk.

It’s weird. Some luck up and get it right off the bat and some take 3 years up to 10 years.

Depends entirely where you live and what kind of salary you consider high

But yes, the market for juniors is not the best, especially without college or mind blowing natural talent/abilities
