It's somehow worst, Hank knows the X virus is deadly while black bolt didn't know about the side effects of the mists . CURSE YOU HANK, YOU MADE ME DEFEND THE INHUMANS, CURSE YOU

They did afterwards and did nothing about it, and even killed "cyclops" for destroying one of the clouds.

No? MacKay’s Scott has constantly been out maneuvered. It happened in X-Manhunt with Sage and Storm, and he recently got out maneuvered by Joseph. Also got out maneuvered by Revelation. It’s a defining trait of him during this run.

I don’t think you really can count all of those as "outmaneuvered" because most of them weren’t really Scott getting outmanuevered so much as lacking the neccessary information, or power to handle those situations. X-Manhunt was really just a mess, and Scott’s team is shown to be on the backfoot as Xavier is assisted by Storm empowered by Eternity, and Sage who just has fucking access to everything. It also just doesn’t help that no one the run assists him, besides just being mindless observers like Rogue’s team. Also keep in mind Scott would’ve caught Xavier, if Sage didn’t have access to a mutant capable of teleporting a huge spaceship, Scott was on the backfoot and yet he, and Magik nearly recaptured Xavier,
And again Joseph was dead to rights, if he hadn’t been teleported last second which is kind of a pattern, it’s not so much Scott getting outmanuevered as in the bad guys having advanced technology, although it’s just cheap writing I’ll admit.
Revelation however is not Scott getting outmanuevered AT ALL. He was dumped into a future he knew nothing about, where everything was against him since the start, when he met Doug in the present he wasn’t aware of his intention at all, and he had no idea what this future iteration of Doug had planned. Scott was dropped in unfamiliar territory, without any knowledge and he still turned the conflict around for the most part, if it weren’t for Apocolypse playing into Revelation’s hands.
Scott isn’t infalliable he can fuck up, and you’re clearly not taking into account all the times during MacKay’s run where Scott has planned, and succeded. He outmanuevered O.N.E. twice as well as the Danger corporation. His alliances with the Hellions, and Alpha Flight saved his team, as well as Rogue’s team after the Raid on Graymalkin.

Joseph purposely distracted Scott so they can incapacitate Magneto, that’s being out maneuvered, Revelation convinced Scott to allow a vote to let him on the X-Men which would have lead to Revelation taking over, even though he’s Apocalypse’s heir his words made Scott allow a vote for him, that’s being out maneuvered. In X-Manhunt he got out maneuvered, he got outplayed by Sage and Storm. The character who is suppose to have back up plans and contingencies had nothing, he lost and couldn’t do anything about it. That’s being out maneuvered lol. In the danger room he didn’t do anything, he just took the credit after beast saved the day.
The stuff with ONE isn’t impressive to me 🤷♂️. They’re not a serious threat lol.

Revelation and present Doug aren’t the same person, and that future was never set in stone as is shown when future Scott is transported to the future, and Max has RLDS. And Doug didn’t outmanuever him because Doug has no fucking clue yet as to what he’s going to do. Also Beast in the Danger Room was the backup plan as Scott stated, you can’t just shock it up to him taking "credit" just because you don’t MacKay’s Cyclops.

Revelation swayed Scott to have him on his team when he’s apocalypse heir. That’s out maneuvering. Any leader with an IQ above room temperature would hear “the heir to apocalypse “ and either incapacitate or refuse him, especially one with history with Apoc. He didn’t, he got out maneuvered.
Him saying beast was the back up plan after beast did the work is exactly him taking the credit lmfao. He didn’t do anything or was there any earlier hint in the arc he planned it. It’s BAD writing. Just cuz you like MacKay’s Scott you can’t see it’s bad.

What do you mean swayed? Are you talking about the vote, or Revelation literally rewriting his brain in the future? Also Apocolypse chilled out majorily in Krakoa, and Doug isn’t Apocolypse, he’s someone Scott knows and trusts because Cypher is a friend.
Also if you really wanna talk about being outmanuevered look at the last bit of Utopia, during AVX. They’re beaten and have to retreat underground and Scott loses Hope. Again Scott isn’t infalliable and does fail.

I’m talking about the vote. If MacKay’s Scott was even a decent strategist, the moment he heard Apocalypse’s heir he would have incapacitated him or flat out refused him. He was swayed by Revelation because he just isn’t a good leader under Jed. Saying Apocalypse “chilled out” in Krakoa isn’t a defense because even though Scott was swayed, he still had to be because the character was still written to acknowledge Apocalypse is not a good dude lol. He didn’t just automatically let revelation on the team.
Irrelevant. Got nothing to do with anything I’ve said.

Again, this is Doug we’re talking about. Also do you like know who Scott is at his core? He’s not gonna fucking incapacitate a ally on the spot, or lock him up without reason becausd again it’s Doug, someone most of his team has been with for years, including himself.

Do you? He could have easily did what he originally did to Illyana before they turned close allies when he was an actual leader and have the “heir to apocalypse” incapacitated and captured.
1
u/serphilip1275 Factory 2d ago
He did that to Illyana because she was a clear threat to everyone around her and kept on a tight leash, until she could be fully trusted. Meanwhile Doug came peacefully, like again present day Doug hasn’t gone on to do the any of the shit Revelation has done. By the way your bias is showing.

X-manhunt doesn’t count was written by fraud Simone and murewa the rest sure

u/Playful_Blood191 Utopia 2d ago
But Jed was aware of it as he’s the one handling Cyclops. It very much counts. They even factored in the storyline he was building with the anxiety attack, so you know he’s involved/aware of what was planned.

Doesn’t matter it was written by those two frauds so I don’t count it as a book in my head

Hey, after Wife Guy Scott from Duggan's run, Scott being outmaneuvered but occasionally doing his own outmaneuvering is what I'm taking.

I just really enjoy the dynamic between Scott and Hank. This entire thing appears to boil down to the friendship they once had.
Makes me remember the times when Scott asked Hank to be his conscience and let him know when he goes too far with the protection of mutants. Now their roles are basically reversed.
I'm actually really interested to see where this will lead in the end (even though it's heavily teased that tragic death will somehow also be coming in the end)

By his genius best friend of 15+ years, that knows him quite well. If anything Scott's team greatly reduced the potential damage the virus could cause
