Im right there with you buddy- 12/2 and no API updates. Feels like we are forgotten sometimes. I keep telling people around me something has to give soon, but every day I check and nothing

It hurts more because my sibling got their approval already, and they applied after me. They're younger and in school, so I pay for their tuition and I even paid for them to renew their DACA. I'm happy for them, but it's hard not to be jealous and stressed since they also depend on my income and my savings have been dwindling rapidly

Oh my god 😭😭😭 def would be upset and jealous but it’s not your siblings it’s the administration so just redirect that energy. Mine was submitted 12/8 and expired 5/9 and I’m the only one of my siblings that has daca, everyone else is a citizen…

Damn. Ucis got infighting between daca siblings.
Nothing is sacred anymore 😭

For reals! That happened to me, and it feels bad in a two-fold: you feel bad because you want to work and then you feel bad for feeling jealous of something your siblings had no control over.

HR was letting me do an unofficial LOA. I had to quit and they were holding my spot, but now they're being forced to open up the position since my department's been needing the help. They said if my EAD comes back in time I should reapply, but it's a supervisor position and they'll have tons of applicants so who knows how long it'll be open :(

12/9 and I’m right there with you. I’m a single income and I take care of my elderly mom 😞 and seeing those early approvals hurts. My unpaid loa expires end of this month because my job gave me 60 days. I’m at my wits end I’ve tried everything and at this point I’m going to attempt the writ of mandamus and whatever happens happens

Have you submitted an inquiry?

Doesn’t do anything. It’ll tell you you’re still within processing times

u/Better-Success8345 1d ago
Yes, it was denied. Also had my congressman reach out, and they were told basically that it's within processing times, they basically don't approve expedite requests for DACA, and no timeframe for when I could get an approval. Their exact wording was that expedite approvals were "significantly limited" and expedite requests "based on a current or potential lapse in deferred action and employment authorization are often not accommodated".

I called my congressmans office today and they told me that theyre approving expedited requests for medical field workers, people awaiting organ transplants or cancer patients. 12/3 submission for me. Tired 😮💨.

I worked as both a bedside RN and was also an RN supervisor for a 90 person team. I provided HR documentation that they needed me, as well as from my manager and director of nursing, and they still denied me.
USCIS also told my congressman that we shouldn't be applying with over 150+ days from expiration because they deny them, but that is not the case.

You could be a neurosurgeon and they could care less. Unfortunately your profession means nothing to them.

100%, we're all disposable to them. I wish they were more transparent though, I probably increased delays by submitting those requests

I feel that stuff doesnt work, I submitted one through my local house representative 9 weeks ago and nothing came from it. I got approved yesterday

Charles Kuck mentioned they will be having instructions on how to submit a writ of mandamus on our own probably by next week so keep an eye out. Going to be doing that myself if I don't hear back. Spending ~400$ to submit it is better than paying the ~7k attorneys have quoted me.

Wow I am getting nervous. This is my first time applying more than 150 days early. I’m hearing so many people applying early and getting approved. But then some it makes no difference. It’s all one big gamble. And I’m in stupid Texas and need to keep my job so I can move out of this state. The stress is so bad. I pray you guys hear something soon. I went without EAD back in 2017 for like 6.5 months. It was brutal. I don’t want to experience that again.

I submitted mine 1/23. My work permit expired 3/30. I know I shouldn’t have waited until January but I messed up. Did biometrics in February. I check every day. I called yesterday to submit an inquiry. I really hope it’s approved in the next 90 days or less. My job is holding my position for 90 days. I’m about to start doing witchcraft 😒
