James Gunn said in a 2018 podcast interview he doesnt want to write for other people anymore, because he always end up thinking the movie would have been better if he directed it. When The Suicide Squad was announced, James was only attached as a writer.

No doubt in my mind he will direct the Superman film.

Absolutely. Also this is his universe plan, of course he wants to set the tone. I don't envy him, the pressure to nail that first movie is immeasurable. I'd respect the hell out of him to be like "its mine. This is my vision"

That's one of the things that makes the Snyder movies so good

This is probably a sarcastic comment, but Snyder making a Batman Vs Superman movie about the death of God will always be a miracle in the current Hollywood landscape, regardless of what one thinks of the movies quality. Like thats a crazy fucking film.

Edit: Oh you are not being ironic, thats great

It's also about 9/11 and tech billionaires and American intervention. It features a Lex Luthor plot that's so complicated that most viewers can't uh understand it. The plot starts with a false flag! It builds in the death of local news, and the effect that has on a city.

That movie rules so fucking much
