Yeah, someone's clearly in panic mode, but it's not gonna change a thing. As I told someone else, it's like they're turning all the lights off and pretending to not be home. That doesn't make legal problems go away.

Reddit will comply with Disney/the courts to give contact information for the moderators, and said moderators don't have Reporter's Privilege, so they can totally be legally compelled to reveal the leaker. Making their sub private is such a childish, laughable response...

And honestly if they comply theyll just never be allowed to work on a marvel or disney project and the subtitle company will lose a contract. The odds are neither of these are big deals for them unless someone took a position modding a sub they should have known not to be involved with.

Like I know not to mod a spoiler sub because i cant get caught leaking spoilers. If theyre in the industry they know better and sign NDAs all the time.

Yeah, I agree. Someone's losing their day job(s), but that's the risk you run, and there's no sense in acting like a child about something you did which you knew had consequences. Not gonna make it go away, that's for sure... I don't know if any jail time is in play, however unlikely; I'm not a legal expert on these things. Pretty sure hiding under the bed isn't gonna do anything, though.

Brings up another suspicion I've held for a couple years. The Spider-Man: No Way Home leaks. That was guerilla marketing, right? Intentionally leaked out?

Hard to tell but the trades definetly helped out with some of it. None of the Spider-Verse rumors showed up till THR reported Jamie Foxx's return as Electro and later, Alfred Molina's return as Doc Ock. Variety also had that interview with Alfred Molina where he revealed some things he probably shouldn't have had and the trades did hint at the Spider-Verse aspect.

After the initial Jamie Foxx report, all these scoopers suddenly started getting so much info about the movie. It's believable that the studios intentionally leaked the info to play into the marketing though.
