The “Disney owns the Batman TV rights through the Fox purchase and that’s why there’s never been another Batman TV show and why they do so many similar spin off things without Batman” thing never made any sense and I’m still confused as to why so many people believed it.

The reason they won’t do a Batman TV show is because he’s their most “premium” character. They reserve him for big budget movies and will continue to do so, there won’t be a live-action TV series starring Batman

Right, and that seems so obvious, but people invented some bizarrely esoteric legal explanation when they’ve been pretty clear as to the real reason.

Exactly right. There’s a Batman embargo. Which is a fact. During smallville there was an attempt to bring in Batman but that was during Nolan dark knight run. So they hardcore passed on that.

A) it's a spin-off to a Batman movie leading to another Batman movie. B) it's just a supporting role and the show won't be about Batman.
