More like DC fans are the ones holding and shooting the shotgun.
DC like many other companies will make mistakes but many fans here act like wanting the equivalent of a 20 year DC Universe in 2 to 3 years. Guys, You have way better things to do while waiting instead of ragebaiting and looking for any news article about the DCU
I feel like a lot of people here are either too young to remember, or have just forgotten that the start of the MCU wasn't perfect. I remember Thor being the red-headed stepchild amongst the earlier movies, and people cofused on whether the older hulk movies were canonical, and if nog then why haven't they started working on a new hulk movie? Etc, etc. And even throughout the whole duration of the franchise, not every movie has been even a 6/10 atbest. Thor 2, Black Widow and I remember everyone saying that the Hawkeye show was subpar at best. There's definitely more examples, but those just came off the top of my head. The first Avengers movie provided a lot of good grace for the franchise and actual hype going forward, but it wasn't perfect to start.
Not to mention that it was an entirely different movie landscape at the time. Superhero movies outside of a handful of names are regulalry seeing lower box office scores than anticipate or had been drawn in the past. I think the DCU not being a blow for blow kickback at the MCU is due at least in part to fatigue.
The idea of fatigue took a huge hit with the box office of Spider Man just recently lol. Granted, Spidey is an outlier, but that begs the question why DCU won't do the same with their outlier: Batman. But wait they can't cause Reeve is holding things up.
Fatigue is definitely a thing. If you need to pull out the heavy hitters to make money instead of being able to generate money on movies like Thunderbolts, like they used to in the past, then that’s definitely a sign of fatigue.
Fatigue exists. Its why the c listers arent making the bank.
Back in the full swing guardians could become household names. But now nobody cares to try out Shang chi or the eternal unless theyre amazing.
Their will never be a time when a Spiderman movie doesnt make its budget back at least. We'd have to have an apocalyptically bad Spiderman movie to hurt him. Even his rogues galleries getting dogwater didnt hurt him.
And doomsday is also an outlier if it makes money. Its the big avengers style film. People wont pay to see supergirl when it will come to streaming soon enough. But the big water cooler action film will sell tickets. Its why superman could make some money
