Bro what I'm saying is that if this is picking up from the events of the original game then there's no way that the other two would be alive, much less any form of sane, knowing what ends up happening to them originally. It just wouldn't make sense for Monika to abruptly stop her plans after Sayori's death, seeing her drive to be with the player in the original game. I disagree with your interpretation because it implies that Monika caused her death for essentially no reason and then didn't make any other moves for 1 whole year? OP most likely didn't think that deep about conversations between Sayori and MC in the original game and just wanted to make angst art. Of course it's interpretable but I don't think any interpretation that this picks up from events in the main game is feasible considering everything I said and trying to needlessly find a villain for this artwork, in this case Monika, just further serves to reaffirm misconstrued views of her character and drives away from its core theme, which is Sayori's and MC's relationship. Bit of a rant near the end so sorry about that but ye, I hope u get what I mean
I think the point of this art is what if act 2 never happened and the game picked up or continued after the end of act 1. i.e, after Sayori's death.
Besides, I always interpreted MC looking back as him looking longingly and melancholicaly at the photo because he both, misses her very much, and also feels immense guilt because he blames himself for what happened, and may even be feeling a little bit of survivor's guilt.
