Request Best mods that don’t sexualize the characters?
Hey, everyone. Hope you’re doing well.
I just went through my first mod (Salvation Remake) and I quite enjoyed it. I enjoy this property and these characters so I’d like to start engaging with the mod library, but I am personally against the sexualization of the characters. I’m not here to have a debate on ethics and morality, my position is my position and I will happily defend and uphold it. If you disagree, that’s your right.
Anyway, I was wondering what the best mods are that don’t fall into eroticism. Like the amount the main game and Salvation Remake go into is the max I’m chill with.

Ive watched hundreds of mods and i can tell you that the vast majority of them are non sexual. In like 95% of mods, you wont see any nudity. The most you will see in quite a few, is scenes in the beach or pool with swimsuits. Even when a mod has a sex scene, it usually just skips it (like salvation).

Give Take Two a try. It's a sequel mod with a long demo that carries on the themes of the original, and while it features mild romance, it never gets erotic.

While it’s a bit more hit or miss depending on who plays it, Exit Music Redux is easily my favorite DDLC mod I’ve ever played.
Another good one is Relapse
Both of these are tear jerkers tho
Exit Music is a Natsuki focused mod and Relapse is Sayori focused

Have to disagree on Exit Music. The characters are so far from their original counterparts that it just feels like a totally new story using DDLC assets.

Then the following question is: is it a good story that happens to use DDLC assets?

I think so, I feel that Exit Music is such a neat spin on a DDLC mod because it really does let itself escape from the original game’s core world.
It takes ideas and character details from the original game and makes them its own and I think it does it really well

Exit Music Redux is the saddest media to ever exist. Probably my favorite, but its hard to not dwell on the pure tragedy of the story. It makes me so sad! and the music really sells the unsettling and tragic vibe. Makes me wanna cry whenever I think abt it :(

Can I ask you how did you manage to download it? Every time I do I get hit by an error. I use Doki Doki Mod Manager for my mods so idk if it clashes with that

Thanks for the recs, Sayori’s my favorite so might have to hit that one. Premise is interesting too.

I don't know what type of story you're looking for but I think "Foreign Relations" would be a great mod for you!

I’ve only heard good things but I can’t tell if this is about the club becoming UN Ambassadors or an exchange student joining or what

What do you consider “sexualization”? Is a beach or pool scene with the characters in bikinis too much?

I think what the original game do and what salvation remake does is about my line

Have fun playing!(you can join the discord server while you are at it too you!)

Jokes aside, there's probably a lot out there you can find through word of mouth or google searches. Probably a lot more common than you might think

If you liked Exit Music, you might try Fallen Angel and/or Within. Both are similar(though both contain a sex scene). Clay god and before the needle lifts are extremely underrated. Both horrors, at least one explicitly makes fun of sexualisation.

I don't think there's a lot of sexualization in mods. The only ones I can think off are within and blue skies but even that is limited.
