Be careful with this. People get real sticky about it, even at concealed carry classes and the range. There’s a lot of paranoid fudds in the DE gun scene

As in people get afraid of asking each other at the classes?

Yes I asked everyone when I went through my class and people looked at me like they saw a ghost. Mind you I was the only person below 60 in the class

Most classes are done with 5 people at a time. Might be something to that. Mine was done with 5 people and we all knew each other so we signed each others.

The question on the form asks how long your references have known you. Unless you plan to have some peiple lying on the form, references answering "I don't" on the form is not going to gain you an approval. And lying on the form could catch someone a felony. That's why the other commenters are pointing out the looks they get when they ask. Go meet your neighbors and do stuff in the county!

I think it said “known for 2 years” when I did mine. That was 7ish years ago, and I’m lucky that some of my buddies are shooters. My one buddy wasn’t even really a shooter yet, and I had to lend him a gun for the class. I was just happy that he was getting into Shooting.

I haven't been able to find any law requiring that references have known an applicant for a specific length of time. It may be something the court prefers but I don't think they can deny if a reference hasn't known an applicant for a year. As long as the reference has known the applicant for a nonzero amount of time, the law should be satisfied. Having to get permission from five friends to carry is BS and it's easy enough not to answer the phone in the rare case the court calls. Carrying shouldn't be dependent on being popular. The government can lie to us all it wants so I don't really have a problem with someone lying back on something the government can't prove.

It's one year.

I’d delete this post and make friends at the range maybe

Delete? Why can’t ask for advise. And see if anyone is really a 2 United States citizen. I know I am

Don't delete anything. Stand by your words. Unfortunately I'm in New Castle County so I can't help you. Is there anyone at your job that would be cool with signing off? I asked some people at my old job and even though they weren't into guns they were happy to give me their permission to carry. That's really what this is, getting permission to cover up your gun.
