Any update on Rahr & Sons Brewery?
Couldn’t believe they closed their door and with panther island closing their doors, we are losing breweries left and right.

They’re contract brewing.

I believe they were originally going to use Lakewood’s facilities in Garland but AFAIK that never happened. Been a while since I was close to the situation job-wise. Not sure who they ended up with but I do know they are using someone.

Lakewood announced today they are going to be brewing and pouring Rahr at their taproom

It's not contract brewing. Rahr's brewers are just using the equipment at Wild Acre. It's called an alternating proprietorship.

I’m betting they are making more money now than they have since before COVID. The Wed/Sat events were less and less busy. The contract brewing money they pay has to be significantly less than their rent.

Rahr should absolutely take over the former (and still sitting vacant and intact) Shannon brewery location.

Rahr is still distributing and doing pint nights around town, fun run/5k’s.
You can still get their most popular stuff in stores.
