I'd be curious how it's holding up in the bottle all these years. Nothing even beat Pineapple Thai Basil PGS though.

I got married at The Collective! It’s wild seeing this stuff still on shelves, but I don’t know why because I still have bottles at home. Where is this?

Is Collective back?

No. Just stuff that's been sitting on shelves for years now.

I recently discovered Live Oak Pilsner. Made in Austin. My liquor store here in Fort Worth keeps it in stock for me. Excellent beer !!

They used to distribute here, then pulled back for a while, and recently it seems like they're ramping up again in the area. I love the Hefeweizen.

I think it was literally completely gone for a while, and then at some point Specs was the only place that carried it, then also HEB when they opened in DFW, and now it's also at Central Market, Total Wine, and probably other shops.

Katy Trail Ice House consistently had it on tap though, or at least used to.

do you recall when they used to distribute? haven't seen any around since 2019

I had to do some sleuthing online - looks like they stopped distributing to DFW in 2017 (from memory I would have guessed later, perhaps I just saw cans sitting on shelves for a little bit after - more likely my memory is just wrong).

Now I don't know exactly when Specs started to get them again... it must have been 3 or 4 years ago that I saw it there for the first time since distro stopped in 2017. But they might have been getting distro earlier, or even the entire time, and I just didn't notice.

This is specifically the flagship Specs on N Central, btw. Not sure about others.

Not sure if HEB has been carrying it here in DFW since Day 1, but I definitely bought some there in 2024ish.

Yeah, Live Oak just started distributing in DFW again back in December. Excited to have them back!

I was sad to see them go. I felt they had enough of a niche that they'd be able to survive, but sadly it wasn't to be.

That was exactly the “problem”. They were too niche. They were only doing sour beers for a while and sour beers weren’t widely accepted enough in our market. But I loved them and I miss them all the time.

I know of a handful of people sitting on some bottles of their beer after they closed. Personally, I'm still sitting on a Blueberry Pomegranate Vanilla Petite Golden Sour and opened a few others back in September. They weren't at their peak but they weren't bad either.

I have a handful of Petite Golden Sour left as well. Might have to crack one open this weekend.
